Very good news for the Obama candidacy.
Atlanta-area voters turn out early
A steady stream of voters poured into election offices around metro Atlanta on Monday morning, ringing in a new era in early voting for president.
This is the first election in which people can vote early without giving a reason. Federal law mandates that ballots be made available at least 45 days before the election. That was Monday.

Grant Park resident Wilson Smith was among about 25 voters who cast ballots during the first 30 minutes in Fulton County. Smith, 58, said he works in Alpharetta, and has difficulty making it to his regular polling place on election day.
“I try to be at work at 7 o’clock, and it might be 7 or after when I get back home,” he said. Smith said there would be no change of mind between now and the Nov. 4 election. “I doubt if very many people are [worried] at this point,” he said.
