White supremacist opening nightclub for youths

By GottaLaff

Nothing says Family Values like a club for teens run by an anti-Semitic racist Nazi:

A man who once proclaimed himself the national director of Aryan Nations is planning to open a nightclub east of Kansas City for the under-21 crowd.

The Black Flag is set to open Friday in the Prime Outlet Mall in Odessa, but Charles Juba, a self-avowed racist and anti-Semite, has extended invitations to high school students in Blue Springs, Independence, Fort Osage, Grain Valley and others.

Why not just go on Larry King Live and promote it in front of millions, because that's how shamelessly brazen these monsters have become. Why, he could indoctrinate millions of high school students in one fell swoop!

It's becoming much too easy to spread hate in this country. There is a real danger of Americans becoming desensitized, assuming they're even aware of white supremacists to begin with.

Tea Baggers are screaming about "evil" President Obama while this kind of thing is going on in front of their little blind beady eyes. Way to prioritize.

White supremacist gangs find a home Southern CA

By GottaLaff

(via)

This morning I opened my L.A. Times, grabbed a cup of coffee, and then nearly choked when I saw this report about an area here in SoCal, not terribly far from where I live:

Residents in Hemet have long known that there is a skinhead element in their city.

They said they have occasionally seen groups of tattooed young men with shaved heads in combat boots and fatigues protesting against illegal immigration.

This is the second time in a week there have been reports of white supremacists rearing their ugly heads in the region.

But authorities now are investigating something far more serious: whether white supremacists are behind a series of attacks on Police Department facilities in the Riverside County city. [...]

Experts who study hate groups said Hemet and surrounding communities are particularly fertile ground for white supremacists. They estimated that there are at least a dozen groups operating in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

Brian Levin, director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at Cal State San Bernardino:

"There is a significant concentration of hate groups in the Inland Empire, unlike anywhere else in the nation, from the National Socialist Movement to the Hammerskins to" the Comrades of our Racist Struggle, he said.

Remember when the GOP came down on Janet Napolitano for her DHS report about the security risks posed by extremist groups?

Yeah, me too.

Anyone gotten wind of any apologies yet?

Bring the kids! White supremacist rally in L.A.

By GottaLaff

The L.A. weather will been nice this Saturday, clear blue skies, mid-sixties, a perfectly lovely day for an outing with the kiddies.

Don't forget to bring your hoods!

The LAPD is planning a large deployment of officers for a planned white supremacist rally at Los Angeles City Hall on Saturday, which will be met by more than a hundred counter-protesters.

The National Socialist Movement will be there, too! Won't that be fun? Why, teaching the young 'uns to rumble could be educational! I just adore an instructive outing, especially in my home town.

The LAPD is bringing in specially trained crowd control officers and plans to create a buffer if necessary to prevent any violence between the groups.

Nothing says family fun like spending a beautiful spring afternoon with white supremacists. Enjoy your weekend!

Swastika-adorned supremacists march for 'white civil rights' after bus beating

By GottaLaff

Security camera video of the attack Police have backed off the claims that this was racially motivated.

Because whites are so oppressed in this country:

BELLEVILLE, Ill. — A group waving flags adorned with swastikas traded insults with and challenged a crowd of about 250 onlookers from behind yellow wooden barricades manned by police including SWAT members during a midday protest Saturday.

After an hour of loud protesting by white supremacists, who were countered by a silent demonstration, police ended the two downtown rallies at 12:30 p.m.

While a police sniper watched from the roof of the police station, 22 members of white supremacist groups, shouted obscenities and made obscene hand gestures. One man, who had a crew cut and wore a black uniform, told the crowd of onlookers, "Wake up white America!"

Nothing says "peace and love" like insults and swastikas:

"We were out there to denounce the violence," said Belleville resident Jason Bonn, who is a corporal with the National Socialist Movement, a group with a name similar to the Nazi Party of Germany during World War II. Bonn’s group is "fighting for white civil rights."

I feel for us white people. We've had it so rough since we forced African Americans into slavery.

Around the corner from the shouting protesters on West Washington Street, several dozens participated in a silent counter-rally on South Illinois Street. The Rev. John Curry, of Conqueror’s Christian Center in Belleville organized the counter protest: "Our message is to preach love for all groups, skinheads, KKK, Nazis, all groups. Hate has got to stop. Our message is silent love."

What?! Who do these people think they are, being all quiet and compassionate and stuff? That's positively unAmerican!

Kimberly Schnarr, of Livingston, was one of the protesters with Bonn. "We're proud of our white heritage," she said. "We're not preaching hate."

Of course not! Don't be silly! White supremacy is all about wiping out an entire race, not hate.

Hannity buddy Hal Turner arrested for threatening Connecticut officials

By GottaLaff

WWHS?* Get out the Maalox:

You all remember Sean Hannity's buddy Hal Turner, the neo-Nazi nutcase whose favorite activity is threatening various public officials, most notably federal judges -- though most recently he was also publicizing his empty threats to wreak havoc at President Obama's inauguration.

Well, it looks like the threats finally caught up with him:

Radio host Hal Turner — accused of hosting a website that incited Connecticut Catholics to "take up arms" and singling out two Connecticut lawmakers and a state ethics official — was taken into custody in New Jersey late today after state Capitol police obtained an arrest warrant for him.

Turner, who has been identified as a white supremacist and anti-Semite by several anti-racism groups, hosts an Internet radio program with an associated blog. Last week, the blog included a post that promised to release the home addresses of state Rep. Michael Lawlor, state Sen. Andrew McDonald and Thomas Jones of the ethics office.

"Mr. Turner's comments are above and beyond the threshold of free speech," Capitol police Chief Michael J. Fallon said in an e-mail announcing the warrant. "He is inciting others through his website to commit acts of violence and has created fear and alarm. He should be held accountable for his conduct."

[...]

Turner also recently suggested to readers of his blog that someone should shoot another abortion provider:

After the killing of abortionist George Tiller, another "doctor" has publicly announced he wishes to take Tiller's place to continue partial birth abortions!

Physician LeRoy Carhart of Omaha, NE wants to continue providing third-term abortions after the brazen slaying of his friend and colleague George Tiller.

Gee, this is becoming a "target-rich environment!"

I suspect someone has a bullet for this guy too. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Prison is too good for this guy.

Where's the media? The Rotting Racist Underbelly of the Tea Party Protests

By GottaLaff

At one of the many "Tea Party" protests, this one in Cleveland, not a single participant believes that President Obama was born in the US. Numerous McCain Palin voters, even the organizer, refused to say Barack Obama was born in the US.
The following is a very astute post and should be required reading for anyone who doesn't get (and even those who do) exactly what is behind the so-called Tea Parties.

We can make all the "teabagger" jokes we want (And I am not suggesting we stop... I sure won't. I live for the Rachel Maddows and Ana Marie Coxes, among others.), but the underlying motives, per the lengthy copy-and-paste below, are hateful, racist, and dangerous. Think: John McCain's/Sarah Palin's 2008 election crowds on crack:

Many white supremacists report planning to attend Tea Parties or already have and some are looking for a way to recruit into their White Nationalist movement. There’s an awful lot of Tea Party chatter among these folks. Why doesn’t the media cover this angle? Here’s a telling and typical comment from Stormfront.org:

Ladies and gentlemen, I think every WN needs to not only attend the April 15th Tea Party nearest you (I’m going to the Alamo in San Antonio) but then stay involved and help provide leadership to this movement.

I believe that this is the white revolution we’ve been waiting for.

It doesn’t look what we expected but this is it.

I’ve seen probably 50 videos on TV showing previous marches and what strikes me is that the participants are all WHITE. It stands to reason . . . we’re the ones being taxed to support Affirmative Action, Welfare and other worthless social programs. It’s our tax dollars going to ACORN and supporting the 12 million illegals swarming into our neighborhoods.

I would urge news media and citizen journalists covering the tea parties to scratch below the surface to get at the rotting racist underbelly of these protests and ask revealing questions like these top five:

  • “How do you know Obama is a socialist?”,
  • “Do you believe Obama’s presidency is a conspiracy by the Jews and Blacks?”,
  • “Who do you think Obama takes his orders from?”,
  • “Is Barack Obama an American citizen like you?”,
  • “How do you feel about having a black president in the White House - what’s the worst that could happen?”

I’ve re-activating my criteria for an undercover racist attack on Obama from the campaign and revising it for the new reality. ... The original criteria for the racist attack zone from Oct 2008 [...]:

1) Is it unique to Obama, i.e. is it a phrase we’ve never heard before applied to any other presidential candidate ever or is it something we haven’t heard in recent memory? For example: elitist or drug seller.

2) Is it illogical or impossible - does the assertion plainly contradict the facts? For example: elitist, drug seller or tax raiser.

3) Is it repeated, over and over, by a desperate person whose team is falling in the polls & who adopts a wide-eyed, credulous, nodding stare pronouncing the lie slowly and precisely with a watchful eye to see if the listeners are buying it. For example: elitist, drug seller, tax raiser or terrorist.

Optional: Does the assertion cause nervousness, embarrassment or confusion among non-blacks? When other white people such as Tom Brokaw sense something wrong and start to ask questions like “Do you really believe that?”, you know for sure you’re in the racist attack zone.

Here’s the new criteria for an undercover racist attack:

1) Is it unique to Obama, i.e. is it a phrase we’ve never heard before applied to any other president or is it something we haven’t heard in recent memory? For example: he’s not an American citizen or he’s a socialist who’s planning re-education camps for young people.

2) Is it illogical or impossible - does the assertion plainly contradict the facts? For example: not an American citizen, socialist, tax raiser, re-education camps for young people.

3) Is it repeated, over and over, by a desperate person whose team lost badly in the last election & who adopts a wide-eyed, credulous, nodding stare pronouncing the lie slowly and precisely with a watchful eye to see if the listeners are buying it. For example: not an American citizen, socialist, elitist, drug seller, tax raiser or terrorist.

Optional: Does the assertion cause nervousness, embarrassment or confusion among non-blacks? When other white people such as Tom Brokaw or John Stewart sense something wrong and start to ask questions like “Do you really believe that?”, you know for sure you’re in the racist attack zone.

[...] My main concern here is that the heated rhetoric around the protests could lead to violence against African-Americans, Jews and Latinos if some Tea Party recruits go from non-violent to violent. That’s why it’s important to drag the masked racism here out into the daylight so we can deal with it and force denials from their movement leaders before certain elements become more brazen and people start getting hurt.

I share those concerns. The corporate media have concentrated on crowd sizes, jump-cut-laden visual loops, montages of hand-painted signs, endless shots of tea bag-waving protesters, and the word "taxes". Unsurprisingly, they have yet to investigate anything beyond the superficial.

Fox News is promoting much more than a "grassroots (in reality, Astroturf) uprising". It is promoting further incitement of violence and bigotry.

While peaceful protest is perfectly acceptable and healthy, it's time to put a stop to bloodthirsty extremists who encourage and fuel blatant hostility, hatred, and outright violence.

White Supremacist, Angry Over Obama, Killed With Dirty Bomb Components In House

It's almost too much of a joke how the rightards are all aflame over how alleged terrorists might* be held in maximum security prisons in their states, but this crap is summarily ignored. h/t Steve D.

BELFAST, Maine — James G. Cummings, who police say was shot to death by his wife two months ago, allegedly had a cache of radioactive materials in his home suitable for building a “dirty bomb.”

According to an FBI field intelligence report from the Washington Regional Threat and Analysis Center posted online by WikiLeaks, an organization that posts leaked documents, an investigation into the case revealed that radioactive materials were removed from Cummings’ home after his shooting death on Dec. 9.

(snip)

An application for membership in the National Socialist Movement filled out by Cummings also was found in the residence, according to the report. Cummings’ wife, Amber B. Cummings, 31, told investigators that her husband spoke of “dirty bombs,” according to the report, and mixed chemicals in her kitchen sink. She allegedly told police that Cummings subjected her to years of mental, physical and sexual abuse. She also said that Cummings was “very upset” when Barack Obama was elected president.

White supremacists watched in lead up to Obama administration

By GottaLaff

I wasn't going to post this (it's such a downer, and it's time to be upbeat about the Big Upcoming Obamaramapalooza), but I'll tell you why I did after this:

Hate crimes experts and law enforcement officials are closely watching white supremacists across the country as Barack Obama prepares next week to be sworn in as the first black president of the United States.

So far, there is no known organized effort to express opposition to Obama's rise to the presidency other than a call by the National Knights of the Ku Klux Klan for its members to wear black armbands as well as fly the U.S. flag upside down on Inauguration Day and Obama's first full day in office.

As Tuesday approaches, when Obama stands outside the Capitol to take the oath of office, experts expect anger about the new president to spike. But they don't expect it to go away.

"The level of vitriol, I expect, will go up a bit more around inauguration time," said Brian Levin, director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University-San Bernardino.

There "is concern" about white supremacist groups during the inauguration, said Joe Persichini, the assistant FBI director who is helping to oversee security during the inauguration. [...]

And interest in racist ideology was so high right after the election that computer servers for two White supremacist Web sites crashed, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks hate groups.

But the violence and interest soon subsided. Leaders within the white supremacist movement are now seeking to capitalize on Obama's presidency by using his election to help grow their organizations. [...]

Levin noted that it is common knowledge the U.S. Secret Service is taking great measures to protect Obama (who began receiving coverage in May 2007, the earliest point ever for a candidate in a presidential campaign), and emphasized it is a great challenge.

"President-elect Obama is so used to a public presence, and being among people poses some real difficulties for his protection," Levin said.
I realize I've posted similar pieces before, but it's important to stay aware of this horrid trend. I've personally become more aware of it in the last six days, since I posted the video of P.E. Obama visiting Ben's Chili Bowl on my YouTube page.

There have been, to date, 155,000 views and over 850 comments. I have never been kept so busy monitoring comments. At first, it was all positive, joyous, celebratory, even giddy feedback. But as the days have gone on, I've had to delete and block commenter after commenter who were so utterly and sickeningly racist that I was actually taken aback.

One spammer spent two days posting 25 comments at a time, varying his screen name by one letter/number so that blocking was impossible (I'd have to block each one separately). He finally stopped, because I made it a priority to stop that kind of hate speech in its tracks, even interrupting my writing here at TPC while I popped over to block and delete. I tried contacting YouTube, but their frustrating system makes that impossible.

I'm still monitoring diligently today. It's disheartening, and scary as hell, to read the very ignorant, extremely stupid, infantile, racist, hate-filled rants of these cretins. It makes it real and way too in my face.

All we can do is keep trying to communicate (which, by the way, I attempted to do once or twice, which you can see if you go wade through the comments), support P.E. Obama's efforts to reach out, and wish with everything we've got that he stays safe and protected.

How sad that such a feel-good 3 minutes and 37 seconds could evoke such noxious, hostile bigotry.

Plot to Kill Obama: Shoot From High Vantage Point

By GottaLaff

Sick, demented, scary, horrendous
:

Denver's U.S. attorney is expected to speak on Tuesday afternoon about the arrests of four people suspected in a possible plot to shoot Barack Obama at his Thursday night acceptance speech in Denver. All are being held on either drug or weapons charges.

One of those suspects spoke exclusively to CBS4 investigative reporter Brian Maass from inside the Denver City Jail late Monday night and said his friends had discussed killing Obama.

"So your friends were saying threatening things about Obama?" Maass asked.

"Yeah," Nathan Johnson replied.

"It sounded like they didn't want him to be president?"

"Well, no," Johnson said.

Maass reported earlier Monday that one of the suspects told authorities they were "going to shoot Obama from a high vantage point using a ... rifle ... sighted at 750 yards."

Law enforcement sources told Maass that one of the suspects "was directly asked if they had come to Denver to kill Obama. He responded in the affirmative."
Okay, I'm officially nauseous.
Sources told CBS4 police found two high-powered, scoped rifles in the car along with camouflage clothing, walkie-talkies, wigs, a bulletproof vest, a spotting scope, licenses in the names of other people and 44 grams of methamphetamine. One of the rifles is listed as stolen from Kansas. [...]

"Clearly we feel that there are federal implications -- otherwise we would not have notified those agencies," Dudley said Monday night. "The weapons clearly would cause great concern."

Subsequently authorities went to the Cherry Creek Hotel in Glendale to contact an associate of Gartrell's. But that man, identified as Shawn Robert Adolph, 33, who was wanted on numerous warrants, jumped out of a sixth floor hotel window. Law enforcement sources say Adolph broke an ankle in the fall and was captured moments later. Sources say he had a handcuff ring and was wearing a swastika, and is thought to have ties to white supremacist organizations.

Nathan Johnson, 32, an associate of Gartrell and Adolph, was also arrested Sunday morning. He told authorities that the two men had "planned to kill Barack Obama at his acceptance speech."

"He don't belong in political office. Blacks don't belong in political office. He ought to be shot," Johnson told Maass.

"Do you think they were really plotting to kill Obama?" Maass asked.

"I don't want to say yes, but I don't want to say no," he said. [...]

The Secret Service, FBI, ATF and the joint terrorism task force are all investigating the alleged plot. Dudley didn't say what tied the men together but said more arrests were possible.

Officials with the U.S. Attorney's office in Denver said they do not believe there is a credible threat to Obama or the convention.

"It's premature to say that it was a valid threat or that these folks have the ability to carry it out," said a U.S. government official familiar with the investigation.
How reassuring.
