VIDEO--Todd Palin Guilty: Contempt of Senate

By GottaLaff

Senator Hollis French introducing Senate Resolution 5; Finding Troopergate witnesses in contempt of Senate. Witnesses included: Todd Palin, Randy Ruaro, Ivy Frye, Annette Kreitzer, Dianne Kiesel, Nikki Neal, Brad Thompson, Michael Nizich, Kris Perry, and Janice Mason.
Remember the good old days when Interview-Me Sarah was guilty of abusing power, and Husband Todd was subpoenaed, and everyone was one big happy scofflaw family? Remember how frustrating all that was? Time to exhale... One down:

At 10:09am on February 6, 2009, Senate Resolution #5 passed 16-1. This resolution finds the witnesses who ignored their subpoenas GUILTY OF CONTEMPT of the Alaska State Senate.

This resolution did not address the actions of Talis Colberg. It called for no penalties to the 7 witnesses because they were being guided by the Attorney General and they did cooperate with Mr. Branchflower as soon as their lawsuit was thrown out of court.

There was very little discussion on the floor.

The lone dissenting vote? Senator Con Bunde. Rule of Law Anyone? Strange, because as I watched Gavel to Gavel this morning, I saw Senator Bunde put his hand on his heart and recite the Pledge of Allegiance with the rest of the Chamber. "With liberty and justice for all." Maybe those are just words. I guess in Con's world, it's OK to ignore subpoenas.

This weekend is the Iron Dog Snowmachine Race. Todd Palin will drive his machine to Nome with a new cloud. Todd Palin is in contempt of the Alaska State Senate.

Joe the Plumber: McCain 'appalled me'

By GottaLaff

Joe Wurzelbacher lashed out at former GOP presidential nominee John McCain Tuesday, the man who made Wurzelbacher famous as “Joe the Plumber.”

Wurzelbacher told conservative radio host Glenn Beck that he felt “dirty” after “being on the campaign trail and seeing some of the things that take place.”

Recalling a conversation he had with McCain about the $700 billion financial industry bailout in September, Wurzelbacher said: “When I was on the bus with him, I asked him a lot of questions about the bailout because most Americans did not want that to happen.”

“I asked him some pretty direct questions,” he continued. “Some of the answers you guys are gonna receive — they appalled me, absolutely. I was angry. In fact I wanted to get off the bus after I talked to him.”
You mean to tell me... the love affair... is... is... over? Sniffle.
Asked why he didn’t leave McCain’s campaign if he was “appalled” by the candidate, Wurzelbacher said, “honestly, because the thought of Barack Obama as president scares me even more.”
Must be that whole terrorist thing. And BlagoGate must have him shivering in his boots, 'cause Blagojevich was, you know, pallin' around with pals who palled around with other pals who were vaguely associated with pals of Obama's.

Suck it up, "Joe". Obama won. Does that appall (or should I say, "a-pal") you?

Bush: “I think I was unprepared for war.”

By GottaLaff

Pic: ABC News' Charlie Gibson interviews President George W. Bush and First Lady Laura Bush.

True to form, Bush somehow manages to sink even deeper into the rancid swamp he inhabits, farting out comments that further foul what's left of his already malodorous presidency. Via The Daily Beast:
President Bush tells ABC News “I think I was unprepared for war.” He also calls the incorrect intelligence that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction the “biggest regret of all the presidency.” When asked, however, if he would have still gone to war if he knew Hussein did not have WMDs, Bush said “That is a do-over that I can't do.” He also said that he regretted partisanship in Washington. “"I also knew that the president has the responsibility to try to elevate the tone. And, frankly, it just didn't work, much as I'd like to have it work." And he seems to have a grasp on the reality of the last election: “I think it was a repudiation of Republicans. And I'm sure some people voted for Barack Obama because of me.”
In what respect, George?

Lieberman contributed to GOP Senate and House candidates

By GottaLaff

Via Think Progress:
[T]he Washington Post reports today that Lieberman was also supporting at least four Republican lawmakers. His Reuniting our Country PAC gave $5,000 to Sen. Gordon Smith (R-OR) and another $5,000 to Rep. Peter King (R-NY) in October. He wrote an op-ed in the St. Pioneer Press defending Sen. Norm Coleman (R-MN), and publicly endorsed and contributed to the re-election of Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME). More recently, Lieberman has said that he fears “America will not survive” if Democrats receive a filibuster-proof majority.
All that and supporting John McCain, too. What a guy.

So how do we repay him? By rewarding him with the retention of his key committee chairmanship. That's tellin' him.

VIDEO: World leaders refuse to shake Bush’s hand during G20 photo-op

By GottaLaff

Why would they want to get anywhere near the guy who let Iran acquire enough enriched uranium for a single crude nuclear bomb on his administration's watch (more of a political milestone than a technical one — there is no evidence to suggest that Iran has an actual bomb or the highly-enriched uranium needed to make one just yet)?

That's quite a legacy. Apparently, nobody wants to shake hands with the moron who allowed one of the "Axis of Evil" to achieve such a milestone, among other things. So, so many other things.

Here's the video of the Intellectual Deficit-in-Chief being internationally shunned:

Rick Sanchez: This may be a case of "what goes around comes around."
