Why would Chris Matthews give G. Gordon "Birther" Liddy any air time, credence, or respect? If you saw the segment (we'll post it later), he appeared to be heavily medicated, at best, and sounded like the nutcase that he is.

As Paddy and I agreed just a few minutes ago, if this is the (haggard) face of the Birthers, then we're home free.

These are dangerous men to the Republic. They think that they are members of some modern Skull and Bones of Sparta, selected by God to inflict a deranged "Christian" government upon the democracy of America -- and for whom immorality and breaking the law are only acts in which God is testing them -- and for which they hold no public responsiblity in their hearts and minds.

Keeping secret one of the members who might admit to child rape!

God help us all -- but not their God, who is merely a monstrous, self-serving excuse in their own minds for evading the laws, ethics, and responsibilities of living a civilized and legal life.

Anti-Gay "Journalist" Dragged From Air Force One

Secret Service personnel remove Brenda Lee from near Air Force One after Lee attempted to give President Obama a letter, Thursday May 28, 2009, at LAX.

Who is this loon?

[S]he refused to leave, saying she had to personally deliver a letter to the president urging him "to take a stand for traditional marriage." [...]

On the Georgia Informer site, however, Lee is identified as Rev. Brenda Lee, where so far I can only find an incomprehensible editorial by her in which she thanks God for not destroying California with an earthquake, despite all the wicked people living there. It also doesn't look like the Georgia Informer site has been updated since last year.

See, here's the thing. You can't just hand things to the Secret Service, see, because their job is to protect the, you know, life of the president.

Bachmann's line about the imams can be found at the 4:30 mark in this YouTube, which also contains a wider-ranging discussion of such issues as President Obama apologizing for America, and the fierce threat of the loss of American sovereignty.

"The imams were actually attending Congressman Keith Ellison's victory celebration, when he won as a member of Congress," said Bachmann.

For the record, the imams were in fact attending a conference that was held on November 17-19, 2006. Keith Ellison's victory party was presumably held on November 7, 2006, the night of the 2006 mid-term elections that brought both himself and Bachmann to Congress.

Officials: Iraqi councilman kills U.S. soldiers

Screw the political reconciliation, the politicians are getting right into the fight.... and killing our soldiers. Just another reason in Bush's bag for us to stay- "We have to be in Iraq until no more soldiers are killed by Iraqi elected officials!" Could someone please ask McCain about this?

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A member of an Iraqi city council shot at U.S. forces Monday outside Baghdad, killing at least three soldiers, two Iraqi Interior Ministry officials said.

But the U.S. military said one coalition soldier and an "enemy" were killed and five others were wounded. The military said it is investigating.

The Iraqi official fired an AK-47 at U.S. troops after they entered the City Council building in al-Madaen, about 25 miles (40 kilometers) southeast of Baghdad, according to one Interior Ministry official. The councilman killed at least three people and wounded four, a ministry official said.

U.S. forces returned fire, killing the councilman, according to two Interior Ministry officials.
