Sarah Palin the new Jesse Jackson?

By GottaLaff

Spotlight McWingnut the new Jesse Jackson? I smell a ghostwritten Facebook post coming:

Peter Brown: "Sarah Palin would probably blanch at the comparison, given their widely divergent world views, but these days her political profile looks quite similar to the Rev. Jesse Jackson's just over two decades ago."

"Simply put, the two emerged as political and media celebrities backed by exceptionally strong support within the most ideological wing of their respective political parties. But both also carry substantial political baggage with the much larger numbers of American voters who decide November elections."

Remember all the hubbub and ballyhoo, not to mention the falderol and ruckus, when the Rushpublics accused then-candidate Obama of being nothing more than a superficial, crowd-pleasing celebrity?

Let me see if I can detect any sounds of hubbub and ballyhoo now that Spotlight McWingnut has attained the very same same status....

Nope.

There is a huge difference between the two of course. Obama had substance as well as style. And he was popular enough to get elected to the highest office in all the land... by a landslide.

Jesse Jackson is an accomplished civil rights activist who's had his share of problems.

Half-Govner Palin quit. And has her share of ethics/honesty problems.

And proved her lack of heft when she resorted to writing crib notes on her palm.

No, she's not the new Jesse Jackson. She's the new punch line.

Meredith Baxter announces she's a lesbian

But, but, "Bridget Loves Bernie"**!!

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- U.S. television actress Meredith Baxter told People magazine she is a lesbian and began dating women seven years ago.

Baxter, 62, has been married to three men, but the marriages all ended in divorce. The real-life mother of five adult children is best known for her work on the 1980s sit-com "Family Ties."

"I'm a lesbian mom," she told People, adding that until several years ago being gay "had never crossed my mind."

(snip)

"I was never comfortable with myself," she explained. "That doesn't mean I was questioning."

Baxter went on to say she has been living with building contractor Nancy Locke for the past two years.

"I feel like I'm being honest for the first time," she told the magazine.
**Wow, from the wiki page I find out that BLB was canceled after one season solely because of complaints about the inter religious marriage, and was the highest rated tv show ever canceled.

Scott Baio: "My wife calls Obama a 'S**tf**k' & I believe she's right"

By GottaLaff

Remember Scott Baio? Aww, wasn't he presh? (Okay, I never thought so personally, but he was awfully popular)

But something inevitably happens when child stars outgrow their snuggy wuggumitude. In Baio's case, a whole lot happened. A sharp-eyed Tweeter, "whyinthehell", came across our little Chachi's Twitter stream and shared.

Looky what we found:
After a few burps and even passing gas from eating at Baja Fresh, I'm still very full. Happy Friday. [That one was included just to set the tone]

Hey people last time I checked I have the right to freedom of speech, Libs may hate that but I DO HAVE MY RIGHTS TOO, Now go Blog that!!!!

So funny how I tweet MY thoughts and libs jump all over me after they disrespect ME, then I DM them in private them to be a good guy.

Also my wife has the same freedoms as you and I, so therefore she CAN call whomever she wants a "Shitfuck" you don't have to like it.

She is a true southern girl (also 1/2 American Indian) and can def. square off with any lib. You guys called Bush far worse, so just chill.
And finally:

What a heartthrob, huh?

Here is the link to his Twitter stream, should you decide to poke around. I wonder how long it will take until he locks it up and makes it private.

Mike Huckabee Filling Paul Harvey's Slot?

By GottaLaff

Paul Hucky:
He's not replacing Paul Harvey on the deceased radio giant's near 1,200 stations, but Mike Huckabee will be getting his 15 minutes of fame. ABC Radio, wowed by listener reaction to the former Arkansas guv, says the stations Harvey fed will now get the Huckabee Report, a five-minute mix of Harvey-esque news and commentary, three times a day. It could be a platform for another presidential run.
Oh noes! Not another celebrity running for president! He better watch out or he'll become overexposed.

Obama Considers Adding "Celebrity Operatives"

By GottaLaff

Some familiar names are going to get even more familiar:
Mike Allen: "Some of the best-known names in Democratic politics -- Jenny Backus, Stephanie Cutter, Matthew Miller, Jennifer Palmieri and Howard Wolfson (alphabetical, guys) -- are being considered as public faces of the new administration in top communications roles outside the White House. Like the recruitment of Jay Carney, these celebrity operatives are a reminder that the Obama presidency is breaking all sorts of conventions, including the professional life cycle that so often takes hot strategists from public service to the private sector for good."

"We were told to add a speculative disclaimer at the top of this, so: This is what well-connected Dems are chattering about. It's not set in stone."
I wonder what well-connected Dems are connected to.

John Sidney McCelebrity

By GottaLaff

All those ads about Obama's "celebrity" status were bound to backfire. Two major publications are asking if J Sid is the real hypocrite celebrity. First, Time:
Sen. John McCain appeared on the Tonight Show this week for the thirteenth time, according to Time. Others who have been on the show that many times: Pamela Anderson, Dr. Phil, Larry the Cable Guy, Simon Cowell, Jennifer Love Hewitt.

So, who's the celebrity?
And then the Washington Post:
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. -- Sen. John McCain may continue to attack Sen. Barack Obama as a celebrity, but that doesn't mean that McCain is above associating with them.

At a fundraiser in the heart of Hollywood Monday night, McCain rubbed elbows with a chorus of television and movie stars while raising some cash in the final days before his Republican convention. [...]

Earlier, Patricia Heaton, star of "Everybody Loves Raymond" joined McCain on the Straight Talk Air today for a flight from Sacramento to Burbank, descending down the front stairs of the plane together and posing for pictures.

And in the morning, Daddy Yankee, one of the biggest stars in the Latino community, endorsed McCain in front of a gaggle of screaming teenagers, then joined McCain for a leg on the plane.

Before the fundraiser, McCain taped an appearance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

Here's a list of those spotted at the fundraiser:

Patricia Heaton (from TV show "Everybody Loves Raymond")

Gary Sinise (Forrest Gump, CSI:NY, etc.)

Dean Cain (played Superman on the TV show "Lois and Clark")

Jon Voight (actor and Angelina Jolie's estranged father)

Jon Cryer (from TV show "Two and a Half Men")

Angie Harmon (from TV show "Women's Murder Club") and Jason Sehorn (former cornerback of the New York Giants)

Craig T. Nelson (from old TV show "Coach" and four episodes of "My Name is Earl")

George Newburn (groom from "Father of the Bride")

Lorenzo Lamas (from the soap "The Bold and the Beautiful")

The whole celebrity issue is ridiculous, but if J Sid's going to throw hypocritical ads at us, then he'll hear about what a two-faced old crank he is.
