From January 9, 2009, P.E. Obama warns that there is no quick fix for the economy.
P.E. Obama's popularity is phenomenal, but unfortunately, and realistically, his poll numbers can't last. However, America seems to be hearing his message:
CBS News/New York Times poll: "Most Americans said they did not expect real progress in improving the economy, reforming the health care system or ending the war in Iraq -- three of the central promises of Mr. Obama's campaign -- for at least two years. The poll found that two-thirds of respondents think the recession will last two years or longer."He has repeatedly warned that it's going to get worse before it gets better (see video). Whether it's because of what he's been saying, or because we can't ignore the obvious, the American people don't seem to be expecting Obama to wave a magic wand and make it all go away on January 21st.
That has to be of some (minor) comfort to Team Obama.
