I tortured myself this morning skipping around back and forth to Fox and Friends earlier. Cillizza is absolutely correct, we are in the bus being driven by the rodeo clowns.

Van Jones: A Moment of Truth For Liberal Institutions
By GottaLaff

If there is going to be a serious progressive movement in this country capable of standing up for health care against an industry that spends $1.4 million a day on lobbying, we can't just look to the members of the Progressive Caucus and say "hey, you, get something done." They need cover. They need to know that they will be supported. And people like Van Jones who have given their lives to causes we say we value like prison reform and environmental advocacy need to know that they will be defended, and not handed over to Glenn Beck as an acceptable casualty in the battle for K-Street dollars.
VIDEO: Howard Dean: Van Jones Resignation A 'Loss For The Country'
By GottaLaff
Who needs health insurance when you've got someone like Howard Dean to lower your blood pressure?
This is a far cry from the image the Rushpublic smear machine painted back when they declared him to be a screaming nut case. Far from it.
Dean has been a much needed passionate Democratic spokesperson, combined with the ability to act as a steady, reliable voice of reason.
The true screaming nut cases are all over the network in this video.
World Net Daily takes credit for Van Jones resignation
By GottaLaff

Today, the Website is taking full credit for Jones’ resignation.President Barack Obama’s “Green Jobs Czar” Van Jones quit late last night after pressure mounted over his extremist history first exposed in WND … in April, Aaron Klein, Jerusalem bureau chief for WND.com, broke the first major story on Jones who was identified as a self-described radical communist and “rowdy black nationalist” who said his environmental activism was actually a means to fight for racial and class “justice.”
At the end of the article, the site recommends the purchase of Glenn Beck’s new book through its online store.
Monetary profit and victory! What a day for the Rush-pubuscents!
I think the Dems should take credit for our successes, too... like the one where we handed the wingnuts yet another victory. Go us!
White House Adviser Van Jones Resigns
This is the equivalent of showing your belly to the shark. It's a win for Beck and his frackin' crazy talk, and now the R's will declare it hunting season on others in the administration. Just awful.
White House environmental adviser Van Jones resigned Saturday after weeks of controversy stemming from his past activism.
"On the eve of historic fights for health care and clean energy, opponents of reform have mounted a vicious smear campaign against me," Jones, special adviser for green jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality, said in a statement announcing his resignation just after midnight Saturday. "They are using lies and distortions to distract and divide."
He continued: "I have been inundated with calls -- from across the political spectrum -- urging me to 'stay and fight.' But I came here to fight for others, not for myself. I cannot in good conscience ask my colleagues to expend precious time and energy defending or explaining my past. We need all hands on deck, fighting for the future."

57 Companies Keeping their Ads off Glenn Beck
My fav thing about this article is from the comments, "BECK RULES!" /facepalm
Oh his show today Glenn Beck continued to look into Van Jones, the White House special adviser for Green Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation who four years ago co-founded the group ColorofChange.org.
(snip)
ColorofChange.org says Capital One, Mercedes-Benz, Discover, Dannon, and HSBC are among those who've pledged to keep their ads off Beck's show. This brings to 57 the number of companies committed to not advertise on Beck's show. Fox News maintains any ads that would have run during Beck have been moved to other shows, so no revenue has been lost.
The ad boycott movement began earlier this summer after Beck's appearance on Fox & Friends during which he said he thought Pres. Obama was a "racist" who "has a deep-seated hatred for white people."
Video- Obama adviser Van Jones: Republicans are "a**holes"
A hearty amen and hallelujah to that!! The fact that Jones said it before he was working for the Obama administration doesn't matter to the wingers, and we all know that calling a group of people assholes is much worse than calling them Nazis, brown shirts, un-American or traitors. Much worse.
...The slip happened in response to a question about the Democratic Party's inability to push legislation through Congress.Of course, the vid is from the "Defend Glenn" group that's trying desperately to keep advertisers from abandoning Glenn Beck. I expect this vid will be featured prominently on Glenn's show tonight and summarily distorted.
"When [President George W. Bush] was in office, [Republicans] had a majority; it wasn't 60, it wasn't more than 60, but they pushed through all of these bills," the questioner began. "But when we have 58, we seem to not be able to move things as progressively as many of us here would want, as Obama wants. ... how were they Republicans able to push things through when they had less than 60 sens, but we cant?"
That's when the first slip happened. "Well the answer to that is, they're a**holes," Jones said, prompting audience applause.
"I was afraid that was the answer," the questioner replied.
Jones, however, continued his casual rant. "And Barack Obama is not an a**hole. Now, I will say this: I can be an a**hole, and some of us who are not Barack Hussein Obama, are going to have to start getting a little bit uppity [to get things done]."

New Obama advisor: “I’d pay money just to shine the brother’s shoes.”
By GottaLaff

“I love Barack Obama,” environmental activist Van Jones was quoted as saying in a January profile in The New Yorker. “I’d pay money just to shine the brother’s shoes.” [...]
Jones will join the administration as “Special Advisor for Green Jobs, Enterprise & Innovation at the White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ).”
He'll work under CEQ Chairwoman Nancy Sutley.
According to Falkenstein: “His duties will include: helping to shape and implement job-generating climate policy; working to ensure equal protection and equal opportunity in the administration’s climate and energy proposals; and publicly advocating the administration’s environmental and energy agenda.”As you can see, shoe-shining wasn't listed as one of his new duties.
