Hop to it: White House adding exercise to Easter
Interesting. The National Park Foundation's website just told me that the White House South Lawn is one of our country’s 392 national parks. Never knew that.
WASHINGTON — First Lady Michelle Obama is taking her campaign against childhood obesity to the annual White House Easter Egg Roll.
Besides rolling eggs with spoons, children will get a dose of activities to promote healthy living and exercise, including sports, dancing - and even yoga. White House chefs will be on hand to talk about eating right.
Performers at Monday's event will include pop star Justin Bieber and the cast of the television show "Glee." J.K. Rowling, the author of the "Harry Potter" books, and Olympic speed skater Apolo Ohno will also attend.
The Easter Egg Roll is the largest public event held at the White House each year, with 30,000 people from all 50 states set to attend.

Obama White House offering podcasts for download
Pretty cool. Yes, I know I'm a geek.
Just a quick update. The White House now offers, count'm, seven podcast feeds. We've just added a feed for First Lady Michelle Obama and Music & the Arts, an exclusive collection of performances at the White House.
If you weren't aware that we even offered podcasts, now you know. So if searching and downloading video and audio every day sounds like too much work, simply subscribe to a feed and sync up your iPod, Zune, or Acme media player. You can have Press Secretary Robert Gibbs' daily press briefings delivered to you automagically** or keep up with the President's agenda with his weekly addresses released every Saturday.
** I am convinced this was done on purpose because it is a really cool new word.

Michelle Obama’s Bees Ready for Spring
I'm not much of a tchotke kind of person, but I'd love to own one of those bottles.
It's year two for first lady Michelle Obama's veggie garden, and plans are underway to begin planting at the end of the month. And when the spring crops sprout, the honeybees will be ready to pollinate. First beekeeper Charlie Brandts tells us that despite a serious mite infestation last year, the lone hive some 20 yards from the garden survived the harsh winter, and the bees are already starting to haul pollen in from the South Lawn. "It's doing very well; it's in a good site," says Brandts, a hobby beekeeper and White House carpenter.

President Obama Wants Less Drama
Who can blame him? The President needs to find whoever it was that kept things wrapped up during the campaign and bring them back. Via Taegan-
After a series of news stories "delving into West Wing palace," President Obama warned his senior staff "against fueling the blaze," Politico reports.
Said Obama: "Don't get absorbed in the Washington finger-pointing and intrigue."
"The season of turmoil, which has erupted just as Obama is pushing for final health care votes that could determine his domestic legacy, is the most vivid example of how the discipline of the campaign -- which prided itself on a tight-knit culture and aides who stayed aloof from the who's-up, who's-down obsessions of the press and the Washington political class -- has frayed under stress."

Video- Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson and The Blind Boys of Alabama Perform at the White House
Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, John Mellencamp, Smokey Robinson, Jennifer Hudson, Will.i.am and more artists took the stage earlier this week in Washington, DC, for a Black History Month special titled “In Performance at the White House: A Celebration of Music from the Civil Rights Movement,” which aired last night on PBS. The concert was originally scheduled to take place on February 10th, but the threat of the northeast blizzard forced the production to film one day earlier. All of the performances are streaming now on the PBS Website.
