"I don't know whether my father, at the end of his life, was gay or not."

As I try to figure out how to respond to this, because I'm tongue-tied, I'm sitting here shaking my head... literally.

One doesn't suddenly become gay at the end of one's life, Karl. One may finally admit it, or come to terms with it, or recognize it, or even experiment... but one does not find oneself magically and abruptly transformed into Teh Gay at the end of one's life.

Maybe that's not what he meant, but that's how it struck me.

"I'm not comfortable writing about me... It was a chance to set the record straight..."

But enough about me, what do you think of me? No, no please... well... okay, I'll just talk about me, and yes, even write about me if you insist... as long it pushes my slimy propaganda, serves my own purposes, makes me a bundle of money, and covers my legal ass.

Sources tell CBS13 that California state senator Roy Ashburn (R) "was arrested for allegedly driving drunk after leaving Faces, a gay nightclub in midtown Sacramento, early Wednesday morning."

"A male passenger, who was not identified as a lawmaker, was also in the car but was not detained... Ashburn, a father of four, is a Republican Senator... with a history of opposing gay rights."

I'm sure he was just giving the guy a ride home. Designated driver. Good Samaritan. Yeah, that's gotta be it.

Dr. Cuddles is no match for Rachel. Toast. Sawdust. Fraud.

Watch as she damns him with his own written words. Revel in her repeated reminders that he is unlicensed and therefore not qualified to cure pickled cucumbers.

It's a little sad, actually... or would be if he hadn't already affected so many lives.

Republican Ken Blackwell Could Restrain Homosexual Urges... if he had 'em... but he doesn't... so he won't

Gay-rights activist/talk radio host Michelangelo Signorile has the audio of Ken Blackwell during the Republican National Convention discussing how:

[H]omosexuality is a compulsion that can be "restrained," and he's quite confident he would be able to suppress it within himself -- though of course he's never had any sort of problem like that.

Of course not, Ken dear. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

"I've never had to make the choice because I've never had the urge to be other than a heterosexual," Blackwell said, "but if in fact I had the urge to be something else I could have in fact suppressed that urge."

If only he could have suppressed his urge to be straight. Then all that threatening gayness wouldn't matter so much to him.
