"Impeach Bush" to Hang on White House Christmas Tree

Pshyeah... As if Bush can read:

The Reliable Source notes a Christmas ornament saluting Rep. Jim McDermott's (D-WA) efforts to impeach President Bush was accepted for the White House Christmas Tree.

Said the artist: "Apparently, they didn't read it -- or Laura Bush is more progressive than I believed."

Mr Speaker,

The people in Washington State are very troubled by the fact that King George has been disposed of by King Henry.

We picked up Newsweek magazine today and we have a new King... King Henry?

We're supposed to give him 700 billion dollars of our money. He doesn't want any review. He wants to be able to do whatever he wants with it. He doesn't want any Congressional oversight. And worst of all, the new king is just like the old king: He doesn't want any sacrifice.

He says, "Oh we can't threaten the salares of the investment bankers who drove us into a ditch. We can't get anyone to pay for this."

"This is the third time we've done it with this bunch. First the war, that didn't get paid for. Then the tax cuts, that didn't get paid for, and now King Henry takes over to distribute 700 billion dollars. He's going to be there for four months. And in four months he will make deals and then he'll go out and he'll be able to catch a pass he threw to himself."

Superdelegate Rep. Jim McDermott endorses Obama

Rep. Jim McDermott on Thursday became the fourth U.S. House member from Washington to endorse Barack Obama for president.

The Seattle Congressman told the P-I's Joel Connelly that Obama is his pick because "I am confident as president he will end the war in Iraq and bring our sons and daughters home." [...]

McDermott joins at least four other Washington "superdelegates" who have endorsed Obama in the race for the Democratic nomination: Gov. Chris Gregoire; Reps. Rick Larsen, Adam Smith and Brian Baird; and Pat Notter, a member of the Democratic National Committee.

But what about the Clintons? Didn't they have a relationship with McDermott?

Ex-President Bill Clinton staged a fundraiser in Seattle in the fall of 2006 to help McDermott pay legal bills from his long-standing civil litigation battle with GOP House Minority Leader John Boehner, which McDermott eventually lost. McDermott said Thursday he had repeatedly tried, without success, to reach Hillary Clinton to tell her he was endorsing Obama.

Hillz seems to be getting a lot of voice mails these days. There's nothing worse than getting break-up voice mails.

But back to Jim and them young folk!

McDermott said he has been greatly impressed by Obama's appeal to young people.

Just had to throw that moment-o'-fun in. But now, back to our regularly scheduled hair-raising, blaring, red alarm warning:

McDermott said he's still fearful that the Bush Administration will manufacture a crisis with Iran as a way of reigniting voter fears of the Democrats' ability to handle security issues.

Every time we want to concentrate on the good news of the day, MadMan Bush and his Band of Death-Wishers have to go and spoil everything. Sigh.
