Howard Wolfson to Work for Bloomberg

By GottaLaff

Just a few days ago, I posted about Wolfson being part of the gang of "celebrity operatives" for Obama. Now this:
In an interview with NY1, top Democratic strategist Howard Wolfson announced that he will be joining New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg's re-election campaign as a senior communications adviser.

Bloomberg was elected twice as a Republican and now is registered as an independent.

Asked about some of the tough words he has had for the mayor in the past -- including once calling him "an out-of-touch billionaire", Wolfson joked: "That was my evil twin."
Who's really the evil twin, Wolfson or the guy who dissed his new boss?

Howard Wolfson Changes His Tune On Obama

But will it keep you from stabbing us in the back when you're on Fox, Howie?

Howard Wolfson admits that during the Democratic primary, he and other Clinton aides "scoffed" at Sen. Barack Obama's large arena rallies "mostly because we were not capable of producing them."

But at Invesco Field in Denver, Wolfson saw something new.

"No one in recent history had attempted this kind of a political conversation with 75,000 people. Barack Obama pulled it off. For 18 months, I listened to Obama on television, sometimes intently, often just barely -- background noise to a running series of conference calls and meetings and e-mails. In person, my attention undivided, I saw something of what so many others had seen for so long."

Edwards Lie Cost Clinton Nomination?

Totally delusional. I'm sure that mindset serves him well in his new role as Fox News Contributor.

Sen. Hillary Clinton "would be the Democratic presidential nominee if John Edwards had been caught in his lie about an extramarital affair and forced out of the race last year," insists Clinton aide Howard Wolfson, ABC News reports.

Said Wolfson: "I believe we would have won Iowa, and Clinton today would therefore have been the nominee."

Wolfson on Fox: Hillary Apparently Not Being Vetted for VP

By Paddy

Oooooh. Not that I want her to be veep, but it seems they're not even pretending at this point. Or maybe it just means there's nothing to check into on her. But then there's Bill....

Howard Wolfson, the former top aide for Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign, told Fox News Channel's Sean Hannity tonight that his former boss does not appear to be on Sen. Barack Obama's short list for VP.

Has she been asked to participate in the vetting process for VP? Hannity asked.

"Not as far as I know," Wolfson said, repeating with other sources close to Clinton tell ABC News.

On the other hand, Wolfson noted, "there is more information about Hillary Clinton available in the public record than just about any other public figure in America, she's been vetted now for a long time."

UPDATE- More ooooh. Obama seeks info on Dodd in vice president search

Top Clinton Adviser Wolfson To Join Fox News

By Paddy

Dude, if you really believe the part that I bolded, then no wonder you tanked Hillary's campaign. 'Independents" watch Fox? They may mark Independent on the party box, but they vote Republican in the nominee box.

Howard Wolfson, one of the members of Hillary Rodham Clinton's innermost circle and perhaps the most visible member of the New York senator's television surrogates, is joining Fox News Channel as a Democratic analyst.

Wolfson confirmed the move this evening via email. In addition to his part time commentary duties on FNC, Wolfson will remain a partner at the Glover Park Group -- a major consulting firm in Washington, D.C.

"Fox has the largest audience in cable television -- many of its viewers are independents who will help decide the next election," said Wolfson of his decision. "It's critically important for strong progressives to be talking to and offering analysis to that audience."

Update: Hillary to suspend Saturday, not Friday

By GottaLaff
Then what, Sunday...? Monday...?

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton will suspend her campaign late this week, senior campaign officials confirmed tonight.

Clinton will host an event in Washington on Saturday "to thank her supporters and express her support for Senator Obama and party unity," according to Howard Wolfson, who did not explicitly state that Clinton is dropping out of the race. But other campaign officials said the event will coincide with her departure, despite her earlier reservations about stepping aside.

The campaign first planned the event for Friday, but moved it to Saturday as news of Clinton's plan spread. "This event will be held on Saturday to accommodate more of Senator Clinton's supporters who want to attend," the campaign said in a statement.

Please remember, because Howard Wolfson wants us to, that she is not explicitly dropping out of the race... no matter what Hillary says.

Feel free to contact him at Hillary Clinton dot com. They'll still accept any and all donations and words of encouragement to stay in the race.
