1600 Pennsylvania Ave - Shuster and Ari Fleischer on Limbaugh, and what 'patriotic' really means...

The thing that kept on going thru my mind with this segment was to wonder who is paying Ari's keep these days. He seemed too on "message" to be just having a chat. Via FDL.

Added- Barb connects the dots.

Rev. Joseph Lowery: "Obama is getting flack for keeping his word"

By GottaLaff

http://www.pbs.org/kcet/tavissmiley/images/a/3587.jpg
On 1600 right now, David Shuster is interviewing Rev. Joseph Lowery about President-elect Obama's choice of Rev. Rick Warren to give the invocation:
Rev. Joseph Lowery: P.E. Obama is getting flack for keeping his word... and reaching across the divide....

On Prop 8: I've never said I support gay marriage. I support gay rights and civil unions. I have some difficulty with the term "gay marriage". I have a little cultural shock with that, but gays should have all the rights all the citizens have in this country.

Shuster: What about the pedophile equation?

Lowery
: That's wrong. I condemn it. But I won't refuse to be on a program with him [Warrern] because we have opposing views. We can find common ground to serve the common good.

David Shuster To Be Named Permanent Anchor of "1600"

YEAH!!!!! Hip hip HOORAY!!! More Hartmann please?

It appears David Shuster will continue anchoring "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" beyond this week. The New York Times' Brian Stelter reports Shuster will be named the permanent anchor of the 6pmET MSNBC program later today.

David Gregory was the previous anchor of the program, which was formerly the home of "Race for the White House."

Deep Thought

I noticed a few days ago that the MSNBC ad for the evening line up had replaced Gregory's voice for David Shusters' in the "1600 Pennsylvania Avenue" bit. Anyone know if it's permanent? I haven't seen anything about it.

VIDEO: Meet the David Gregory Press

By GottaLaff

The video is about a year old now.

So many David Gregory stories, so little time. First, the Big Ooops! Here's the original AP announcement:

NEW YORK (AP) -- NBC names named David Gregory as new host of "Today" program.
Next, the Big Question Mark:
As he takes over moderating duties at Meet the Press, David Gregory gives up anchoring his 6pmET MSNBC show, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines tells TVNewser, "David Shuster will anchor the show this week. We'll have an announcement about a permanent new host soon."

Finally, the Big List-O'-Things Gregory needs to know, via the host with the Big Long Name, George Stephanopoulos:

10.) Monday night is the new Saturday

9.) Saturday Night Live is a pretty cool wake-up call

8.) Dennis Kucinich is a biter

7.) You'll never have to anchor another car chase -- ever

6.) No more OJ stories either

5.) Remember to wink at the camera when you say "stimulus package"

4.) Never let Chuck Todd drive you to work

3.) Don't sit Doris Kearns Goodwin next to David Broder. Long story

2.) Rapping with Karl Rove is a guaranteed bump during sweeps

1.) Most important, don't forget we move our clocks back next Sunday.
0.) Leave the Top Ten lists to David Letterman.
