What's wrong with this picture:
CNN Poll: Palin's popularity on the rise

Obama Approval Hits New Low
Oh noes! What mischief the wingies shall make of this. What fun they'll have! How could this happen?

Oh that's right...

Barbie McLipSchmutz has no professional responsibilities (because she quit), doesn't hold public office (because she quit) spends her days letting her ghostwriter do her fancy Facebook pageant talkin' for her (because she can't), boasts about her Big Book Tour but abandons her fans mid-event (because she quit), makes outlandish Word Cole Slaw speeches (because she's paid), and poses for pretty pictures (because she can).

President Obama holds the highest office in the land and must make monumental -- sometimes unpopular-- decisions that affect the whole world (because he won the election by a landslide).

I bet the Obama haters will forget to mention all that.

Quote-O'-The-Day: Punditiot Karl Rove edition

By GottaLaff

Charlie Rose mentioned, in an interview with KKKarl Rove, that [Supreme Court judge nominee Sotomayor] attended Princeton and Yale Law School, and Rove responded:

Charlie - “She is very smart.”

Rove “Not necessarily.”

Charlie - “What do you mean? She went to Princeton where she graduating with honors and then went on to Yale Law School….”

Rove- “I know lots of stupid people who went to Ivy League schools.”

Speaking of stupid people, here's what he said about his little pal Georgie:

The myth was that this guy, who was a Yale history grad and a Harvard MBA, was not smart,” Rove told the Chicago Tribune. In December 2008, Rove also touted Bush’s time at Harvard and Yale in a Wall Street Journal column, writing, “You don’t make it through either unless you are a reader.”

I'm still trying to figure out 1) How putzes like Rove remain on the air (Never mind, it's the Faux News Channel), and 2) Why they get so much air time elsewhere (Never mind, it's the corporate media).

Tea Tantrums v. War Protests

By GottaLaff

I'm totally making Bob the Awesome's premise my own by using visuals. Call me crazy, but outrage over sending people to kill and be killed in a fraudulent war trumps that for cutting taxes for 95% of America while trying to fix an economic disaster:

April, 2003 Washington, D.C. 100,000

The world says no to war
March 2003, New York 40,000-100,000

January 19, 2003 Washington, D.C. Tens of thousands

Bob Cesca:
[N]one of those protests received anywhere near the establishment media attention as these comparatively dinky tea bag groups. One thing is for sure: the anti-war protests certainly didn't have an entire cable news network dedicated to promoting and covering the events.
Typically fair and balanced, to use a terribly worn-out phrase.

Biden v. Cheney

By GottaLaff

Who would you rather have representing your country on the Tee Vee Machine: Regular-Guy Joe or the subversive Nation of Dick? Goshohgee, what a tough choice:
Vice President Joe Biden has become the go-to guy of the Obama administration, called on to handle every problem from middle-class prosperity to oversight of the government's mega-billion-dollar economic recovery plan.

Quite a contrast to Vice President Dick Cheney, who spent his eight years in office commissioning legal briefs that reasserted the executive branch's power over many aspects of our lives. As the Washington Post’s op-ed columnist Jim Hoagland put it, "Joe the Glad-Handing Mechanic has replaced Dick the Secretive Influencer. Sunny, visible and verbose have chased gloomy, occult and clipped from the office."
Paddy posted a video of Gloomy McDroopyDick's CNN interview here, which proves once again that ratings trump real news and good taste.
