Report: Blago's contribution list included Senate hopefuls

By GottaLaff

Blagoeouqalfjopqiujvich makes the news again:
A list of people targeted for contributions by former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich's campaign committee included four possible candidates for appointment to President Barack Obama's vacant Senate seat, according to a published newspaper report. [...]

It's dated Dec. 3 — six days before Blagojevich's arrest on federal charges of scheming to sell or trade the Senate appointment, among other misdeeds. [...]

The list published by the Sun-Times contains the names of J.B. Pritzker, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, Rep. Luis Gutierrez and Roland Burris. All were reported to be under consideration and Burris ultimately won the governor's appointment to the Senate.

None is reported to have contributed. About 150 names are on the list, some with dollar amounts as goals and adding up to more than $2 million.

"They may have had him on the list," said Pritzker spokesman Dave Lundy. "But they had a lot of quirky ideas that didn't have a basis in reality." Pritzker was being targeted for $100,000, according to the list.

Schakowsky said she never was asked for a donation. "The empty space next to my name speaks volumes and shows that Blagojevich knew better than to approach me," Schakowsky said.

Gutierrez had taken himself out of the running for the seat in late November. Burris, a former Illinois attorney general, has acknowledged he attempted to raise money for Blagojevich, but has denied wrongdoing.

Also listed are at least six Blagojevich appointees to state boards or other jobs.

Can we just be rid of him now? Please?

хороший пока and хорошее избавление , President Bush

By GottaLaff

хороший пока and хорошее избавление*, Bush. Oh, and I'm sure President-elect Obama is thrilled with your latest jerkitude, 'cause, you know, it's always helpful to erode an increasingly fragile relationship:
Just hours before a scheduled meeting here with Russia's leader, President Bush issued a provocative statement hailing the fifth anniversary of the so-called "Rose Revolution" in the former Russian province of Georgia.

Bush called the Georgian revolution one of the "most inspiring chapters in the history of freedom" and reiterated U.S. support for Georgia's "territorial integrity" in the wake of Russia's military invasion earlier this year.

"Thirsting for liberty and armed only with roses in hand, citizens throughout Georgia peacefully staked claim to their God-given right of liberty," Bush said in the statement, referring to a wave of massive anti-government protests in 2003. "These demonstrations proved once again, that when given a choice, people choose to live in freedom." [...]

The remarks come at a time of heightened tension between Washington and Moscow in the wake of Russia's August invasion of Georgia in a dispute over the breakaway provinces of South Ossetia and Abkhazia.

*Good bye and good riddance

Droopy Lieberman whines, er, speaks

By GottaLaff

First it's Fredhorn Leghorn, now it's Droopy. Doesn't all that whining hurt his Shar Pei* ears?

"George Washington in his farewell dress?" Did he really just say that?

And why does he continue to call himself a Democrat?

He says he's in a unique position to share something because he's a Democrat. He's sharing that "Democrats are trying to convince people that John McCain is someone else. Don't be fooled! Beware of the scary Democrats! God only made one John McCain and he is his own man!"

Were you fooled? I wasn't. I knew very well, long before the Democrats told me, that he was a partisan, right-wing, hypocritical, hostile, angry, lying, lobbyist-loving war monger.

Droopy Joe says J Sid is not partisan. Droopy Joe is whining in a very shrill way. Shrill + whining. Ba-a-ad combo.

Newsflash! Sarah Palin is a reformer!. Droopy Joe says so. McCain/Palin is the real ticket for change, not Obama. They're so mavericky! If the Republican party is so rabid about change, why haven't they done anything changey for the past 12 years?

Oh, and the surge is working.

Stop whining! Oh, please, please, stop whining.

*Apologies to Shar Peis everywhere.
