"Track"ing Bristol Palin's MySpace file

Rather than plaster this post with gory details of Bristol's MySpace entries and other documentation, I'll link, and you take a peek for yourself. The files are pdf formatted, so it's easier that way.

The Gawker piece includes the following:

[R]evelations that Sarah Palin had previously accused her daughter of being pregnant and that Bristol's brother [Track] once told their mother that Bristol was a "stoner."

I'm tucking my snarkage away for now and saving it for another post. Ripping into a teenager isn't too appetizing; however, mocking Mommy Dearest, the supposed fine, upstanding, god-fearin' adult who taught her daughter everything she knows and proselytizes, is much more entertaining, even addicting.

And speaking of 2012, if those screen shots/quotes are as authentic as they seem, Shooty McMouthOff's family values, and Mother of the Year "you betcha" image, need some serious revamping.

Obama Online: Facebook Vs. MySpace

As a frequent poster at MyBarackObama.com, I have to really hope that they continue that site the way it is- the Scoop style commenting on posts and the ability of supporters to set up their own sections for news and fundraising was just seminal to the victory, imho. Plus, I'm used to the old version. Via Washington Whispers-

Americans are clearly eager to network with the new Obama administration online, but they're split over which site the new president's team should use. In the new Washington Whispers poll conducted by Synovate eNation, Facebook was slightly ahead of MySpace as the favored networking site. Two others, Twitter and the picture-post Flickr, barely registered.

The polling data showed that the division over Facebook and MySpace deepened in different age groups. Those ages 18 to 24 preferred Facebook 53 percent to 34 percent. And the 35-to-44 crowd did too, 55 percent to 34 percent. Also, the more post-high school education the poll participant had, the more Facebook was the choice.

North Carolina cops investigated for MySpace slurs toward Obama

Two posts in a row on racism by the police make Laffy a very sad blogger:

Police in Durham, NC, are investigating derogatory and potentially racist Web postings from at least two of their officers directed at Barack Obama.

Details of the investigation remain murky, and Durham's chief of police has insisted that a "racial slur" is not the subject of the investigation, but civil rights groups are demanding more information.

The local NAACP says police need to release copies of the Web postings, which appeared on officers' MySpace or Facebook pages.

Durham's NAACP president Fred Foster Jr.:

"We believe that if these comments are against people of color, then it will be hard for those officers to serve and protect without prejudice and that they should not be allowed to wear the uniform representing public trust." [...]

"There's no exact words that were said," said Police Chief Jose L. Lopez Sr. told the paper. "It wasn't a racial slur, but we're still investigating it."
