VIDEO: "Banker Man" devours consumers + Dems force actual GOP filibuster

By GottaLaff

My pal Alison sent this along in an e-mail, along with the video:

Consumers Union unleashed Banker Man to deliver the message that banks should stop “feasting” on consumers with outrageous fees and hidden costs. Consumers Union advocates will call on Congress to pass financial reform now.

The stunt took place Wednesday morning, 8.30am to 10.30am ET at multiple locations around the Capitol Hill area.

Without reform, including control of outrageous fees and hidden costs, says CU, owner of Consumer Reports, we're doomed to repeat the last two years' financial fiasco. CU maintains that poor oversight of financial services allowed banks and Wall Street firms engaged in reckless behavior that resulted in record home foreclosures and job losses.

Meanwhile, Ezra Klein has some good news:

It's about time. Now lets hope the Dems don't cave and hold the Party of No's feet to the fire, for real, for once, for all, and for as long as it takes.
