My eye doctor told me something today that shouldn't surprise you. He was having a conversation with a Republican who accused Obama of taking too long to name his cabinet. No, I'm not kidding. When my very informed, extremely intelligent doctor corrected him, the guy wouldn't back down.
At yet another press conference on Friday, President-elect Obama is expected to announce his final three cabinet-level picks: Rep. Ray LaHood (R-IL) as secretary of transportation, Rep. Hilda Solis (D-CA) as secretary of labor and former Dallas mayor Ron Kirk as U.S. Trade Representative. On the Tee Vee Machine yesterday, some brainless talking head was complaining that Obama was limiting the number of questions at all these press conferences. As stated in a previous post, he's already answered 48 questions, with more coming tomorrow. How many has Bush answered?
Furthermore, if the press is going to waste their time trying to get Obama to reveal details that he has explicitly been told by Patrick Fitzgerald to avoid, then they should choose those three questions more wisely and quit their bellyachin'.
Will everyone in the press please just chill and let the guy do his work, which he is doing at record speed, transparently, and much more reciprocally than BushCo ever has.
