Wisconsin Prosecutor says sex ed teachers could be charged with contributing to delinquency of a minor

I'm in topsy turvy world. Yesterday Virginia reinstated "Confederate History Month", the Utah GOP is trying to kill Utahans with AIDS and now this yahoo wants to criminalize sex ed teachers?

MAUSTON, Wis. - Juneau County's district attorney is warning school districts that sex education teachers could be charged with contributing to delinquency of a minor.

A new law takes effect this fall that requires schools with sex ed programs to teach children how to use condoms and other contraceptives.

DA Scott Southworth says the requirement encourages sex among minors, which is illegal. Southworth says it's like teaching children about alcohol use, then instructing them on how make a mixed drink.

Does the Palin/McCain campaign oppose warning children about inappropriate touching?

By GottaLaff

About that sleazy ad by Palin/McCain... You might want to rethink it:

Would it be fair to assume that the McCain campaign opposes “warning young children about inappropriate touching and sexual predators?” By the logical standard set by this ad, it seems it would.

I have put in repeated calls yesterday and this morning to the McCain campaign press office, seeking clarification of the Arizona senator’s education positions, but have yet to hear back.

I’m not holding my breath.

So this is where we stand, with just under two months left until the election. In all likelihood, it’s only going to go downhill from here.

Wait. Palin/McCain have education positions? Now that would be news.

McCain Reaches Bottom Of Barrel, Gets New Barrel

Shameless, disgusting fearmongering.

The spot, titled "Education," comes after the two candidates went back and forth over education issues most of Tuesday. It is an attack the Obama campaign should be ready for. The same lines were used against the Senator during his run for office in 2004 by challenger Alan Keyes, and were brought up during the primary by Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

In essence, Obama supported "age appropriate" sex-education for children as a means of teaching them what was proper or inproper touching, as well as to protect them against pedophiles, his campaign has said. Used in the context of the McCain campaign ad, however, Obama's stance becomes another one of those cultural issues that seems designed to alienate the Illinois Democrat from more socially moderate voters.

And very quickly, the Obama campaign came out with a hard hitting response, pointing to a series of education accomplishments made by Obama, and calling McCain "perverse" for the latest attack.

"It is shameful and downright perverse for the McCain campaign to use a bill that was written to protect young children from sexual predators as a recycled and discredited political attack against a father of two young girls - a position that his friend Mitt Romney also holds. Last week, John McCain told Time magazine he couldn't define what honor was. Now we know why," said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.
