Kyl Says Republicans Ready to Cooperate on Financial Reform

Wait, what? Why, I had my eyes opened today! It turns out the GOP actually does know the word "cooperate". Who tutored them while we weren't looking? All that surreptitious home schooling may have actually paid off:

Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) on Sunday said Republicans are eager to cooperate with Democrats on financial regulatory reform legislation, the next major item on the Senate agenda.

Apparently, they also learned the words "poll numbers", "consequences", "elections", and "fail".

They have yet, however, to fully comprehend the meaning of the words "hypocrite" and "disingenuous".

McCain: DEMOCRATS "have poisoned the well." No more GOP cooperation.

J Sid in Wonderland has gone completely through the looking glass. Up is down. Black is white (well, except for President Obama... who's apparently too black for his crowd). Old is young.

No, wait. Old is McCain:

"There will be no cooperation for the rest of the year," McCain said during an interview Monday on an Arizona radio affiliate. "They have poisoned the well in what they've done and how they've done it."

Oh em gee, that is so funny, because, see, we were just saying that about the Rushpublics! Isn't that a coinkydink? Because, see, they gave the Dems no cooperation for the entire year!

Jinx! They owe us a Coke!

And, OMG #2: We thought they poisoned the well, too! Isn't that just crayzee? 'Cause, okay, the thing is, they did! What with all those nasty racist signs and Hitler references and name-calling and slurs and Tea Tantrums and stuff!

And here they are, via J Sidney McCain, accusing the Democrats of toxicity when-- now get this-- it was them all along!

God they're a crack-up.

Who woulda thunk it that we have so much in common with the Party of No?

Oh that's right. We don't. They're just projecting again.

McCain and Obama Camps Coordinated Staff Rosters for Next Government

A senior Obama campaign official shared with The Washington Note and Huffington Post that in July 2008, the McCain and Obama camps began to work secretly behind the scenes to assemble large rosters of potential personnel for the administration that only one of the candidates would lead.

Lists comprised of Democrats and Republicans were assembled, sorted into areas of policy expertise, so that the roster could be called on after the election by either the Obama or McCain transition teams.

So, either they wanted the appearance of cooperation (or at least a leak indicating as much), or they were actually planning to reach out to the other side, per Clemons. Either way, that was some tightly held info.

I guess as of last summer, Gramm-pa forced himself to look "That One" in the eye at least once, and address him directly. Now that's cooperation.
