Charleston, S. Carolina GOP Censures Lindsey Graham for working with Democrats

By GottaLaff

http://www.moonbattery.com/archives/Lindsey-Graham.jpg

Look what's happening in Charleston County! They condemn their Congress members for reaching across the aisle. If this is how badly the Rushpublic party is devolving, if this is how they treat their own, if this is the disdain they show for independence, they are doomed:
The Charleston County, S.C., Republican Party has formally censured Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) over his efforts to work with Democrats and other GOP moderates on a host of hot-button issues, the Charleston Post and Courier reported Wednesday.
Now, I'm no fan of Lindsey's taste in friends (Traitor Joe Lieberman and John McCain come to mind) or policies, but I am a fan of sanity.

As the article states, Lindsey worked with Traitor Joe and John Kerry on climate change legislation, as well as participating in bipartisan negotiations on immigration reform. Boy howdy, if anything deserves a slap on the hand, it's that. What nerve!
Graham has also angered conservative activists for his criticism of “tea party” protesters and others who have sought to impose a strict ideological litmus test on Republican lawmakers.
But... but... the headline says that the GOP censured him. What could that possibly have to do with the Tea Tanrumers?
The county GOP is closely connected to the tea party movement [...]
There goes the neighborhood...

Pelosi to Joe the Mouther: Apologize to House or face censure motion

By GottaLaff

Put your money where your Mouther is:
[N]ew reports have the Dems and particularly Speaker Pelosi telling Wilson that he must either apologize to the House or face a censure motion. On a strictly political calculus, it's a little hard to figure. When someone is doing so much to damage themselves and their party, generally you try not to get in their way. The key, however, seems to be Wilson's increasingly unrepentant attitude over the last two days and his refusal to go down to the well of the House and apologize to the body for his actions. [...]

Given how many the tea-bagging right has rallied around Wilson, I don't think many House Republicans want to have that vote. They don't want to vote to censure him. On the other hand, voting in support of him would be a little troubling for a lot of voters too.

Wilson Censure Now In Works

By GottaLaff

http://images.huffingtonpost.com/gen/103683/thumbs/s-JOE-WILSON-large.jpg

Or, they could just kick is sorry ass out completely. Why must my daydreams always be so far fetched?

It appears House Dem leaders are now considering censure for Wilson for yelling at the president last night, despite Nancy Pelosi’s earlier suggestion it might not happen. [...]

Dem Rep Jim Clyburn, who strongly rebuked Wilson in public, privately approached him on the House floor today to demand that he apologize to the full House, a leadership aide says.

But Wilson refused, the aide adds, saying he’d already privately apologized to Rahm Emanuel.

House Dem leader Steny Hoyer, meanwhile, approached GOP leader John Boehner to push for a House floor apology from Wilson, the aide adds.

The House Dem leadership has now concluded a public apology is necessary. “Wilson brought dishonor to the House,” another leadership aide says. “He needs to apologize to the House on the floor for his behavior and if he does not, action will be taken when we return to session next week.

House leaders are discussing the possibility of a Floor resolution censuring Wilson, the first aide confirms.

And then they can kick his sorry ass out. Oh, sorry, daydreaming again.

Caving, Part 2: Connecticut Democrats backing off Lieberman censure resolution

By GottaLaff

liebermanweb.jpg
Okay, after this I'm really going to work:
[I]t appears now that the “anger is draining“:

“We’re in the process of updating the resolution to be more reflective of the current time and situation,” said Audrey Blondin of Litchfield, one of two committee members who proposed the censure. Words like “censure” are certain to disappear. So is any suggestion that Lieberman end his affiliation as a registered Democratic voter in Connecticut. Instead?

“An expression of disappointment, an expression of disapproval,” Blondin said. “And let it go at that.”

I'm so "disappointed" that Bush lied us into a war. I "express disapproval" that people have been tortured in the name of the U.S. What a pity that we're having a little money problem. Tough noogies about all those health care issues.

Traitor Joe's betrayal of the Dems when he turned on Obama and stood by McCain and Palin, two of the worst, most offensive candidates in recent memory, was a minor annoyance. "And I'll let it go at that."

Palin around with abuse of power

By GottaLaff

aft3
Pitiful Palin could be in a heap-o'-trouble if Alaskans for Truth get their way. They're an awesomely wonderful group that includes many Mudflatters, Celtic Divas, Shannyn Moorers, and Motley Meese. More power to 'em:
[A] group led at least partly by left-leaning bloggers and that staged a big anti-Palin rally during the election - Alaskans for Truth - is calling on the Legislature to run with the Legislative Council's "Troopergate" report, which found Palin abused her power. (As opposed to the conflicting Personnel Board investigation, that cleared her.)

The group calls on lawmakers to:

-- Censure Palin.
-- Seek contempt charges against Todd Palin and state officials "who willingly ignored the Legislative Council's subpoenas during the investigation."
-- Hold hearings on whether the governor and Todd Palin committed perjury in their statements to the Personnel Board's investigator.
-- Investigate whether Attorney General Talis Colberg committed witness tampering.

Also.
