Tomorrow's RW meme today: "Liberal" May Day Riot!

How they equate Anarchists with Liberals/Progressives I don't know... but they do. Aren't they always whining about how we love "Mommy Government"? Yep, totally makes sense that we'd join up with a "movement" that wants no government, no authority. I detest how these little idjits reflect on us by default. But we will be hearing about this tomorrow.

SANTA CRUZ - A large group of protesters demonstrating at a May Day rally for worker's and immigrant rights downtown broke off into a riot vandalizing about a dozen businesses around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Many in the group were carrying makeshift torches as they marched, breaking storefront windows and writing "anarchist graffiti" on buildings, according to Capt. Steve Clark. Many businesses sustained multiple broken windows including very large storefront windows at Urban Outfitters and The Rittenhouse building. Police believe at least 15 businesses suffered damage.

The violence was initiated from a group holding a rally at the town clock for May Day. Windows at Jamba Juice and Velvet Underground were left shattered and graffiti including anarchy signs were tagged onto buildings.
Because of the size and violent demeanor of the crowd, Santa Cruz police asked for help from all agencies in the county to break up the riot. At one point, protesters lit a fire on the porch of Caffe Pergolesi and blocked access to firefighters, officers said. Police were able to clear out the demonstrators before more damage was caused.

(snip)

"The damage that was caused was without purpose," Clark said. "It was senseless violence that victimized a community who cannot afford to be victimized in this manner. This did nothing to add credit to whatever they believed their cause was."
Don't even get me started on the so called "anarchists". Stupid little punk ass whiners, thinking they're all that with their (gasp) black clothes and even MOHAWKS!!! How utterly original. Bet you guys even get high and plot to take over the world? Make loud aggressive music on shoddy instruments? Who woulda thunk.

I'm sure all this aggression comes from the huge spanking I gave some little snotty git at Comcast today, but hey, I won. You don't want to mess with a woman who once wore a dress made out of black stockings and pink baby diaper safety pins, ya little shits.

Did you know this was happening?

One of my former students, Matt, keeps me up on the various events of the ongoing, underreported anarchist movement. He's, erm, very familiar with them, and has sent me some updates on their activities:
Activists staged a series of successful direct actions in several locations on the night of May 2, blocking striker vehicles bound for the Port of Tacoma from Fort Lewis. Blockades halted strikers at several points along Interstate 5, and 11 activists were arrested. Demonstrators have pledged to continue resisting the use of the port for war shipments. [...]

“The police may see our actions as criminal, but the real crime is the illegal invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq and their continued occupation,” adds Ellis, a demonstrator. [...]

Resistance is ongoing. Demonstrators are available to speak with the press.

More information can be found at www.OlyPMR.org.
Here's one more:
An anti-war group says 11 of its members were arrested trying to block Stryker military vehicles from Fort Lewis from being shipped to Afghanistan.

The Port Militarization Resistance has been conducting demonstrations at ports in Olympia and Tacoma since 2006.

The Seattle Times reports Saturday's action targeted vehicles as they pulled out of the Fort Lewis gate and at an Interstate 5 exit in Tacoma. The paper says the 11 were cited for disorderly conduct or reckless endangerment. Some were jailed and posted bail Sunday.

The Port Militarization Resistance says it is trying to raise public opposition to the war in Afghanistan where the Fort Lewis 5th Stryker brigade is headed.

And one written especially for TPC, from my pal:
Tacoma Washington.

Once again Port Militarization Resistance groups from Olympia and Tacoma have physically blocked military equipment from leaving for the war in Afghanistan. Based out of Coffee Strong, an Iraq Vets Against The War coffee house located just blocks from the main gate of Ft. Lewis, the groups have been organizing on the fly actions since May 1st when the deployment began.

Most recently a group calling itself the Port Liberation Front blockaded the freeway on ramp used to move military equipment, including Stryker vehicles, using Hug-Bots, protesters dressed as robots who cemented their arms together.

Actions, protests and disruptions will continue as long as the military equipment runs through public ports in the northwest.
Did you see this on the corporate newscasts? No, you didn't. It is ongoing, it's an extensive effort, very organized, very targeted, and we never hear a word. Maybe some of you do locally, but certainly not on the national Tee Vee Machine.

VIDEOS: G20 Anarchists Set London Financial District on Fire

By GottaLaff

I have a friend/former student who has strong connections with anarchists, and he has been warning me about things like this. I'm sorry to say, Matt called it:

Republican anarchy

By GottaLaff

Excellent. Presented in full, with much appreciation to Marc Ambinder:
The Republican Party is in a near state of complete collapse. There is massive and public infighting. A total lack of confidence in the leadership. No real core idea. A weak national party. A President and White House apparatus with almost no influence whatsoever. A party that might have inadvertently sabotaged a bill it needed to -- and wanted to -- pass.

Yesterday's vote was cathartic in the sense that it clarified for people that John McCain, who still has a solid chance of winning this election, is really not the standard bearer of the Republican Party in function, even if he is associated with the party in brand.

When everyone is a free agent you get anarchy. President Bush is being eaten alive by his "legacy". The House Republicans are desperate for the second coming of a Gingrich-like figure to lead their guerrilla army against whatever the future holds. The Senate GOP is grasping at governance while staring into the abyss of a potential 40 minus seats.

And McCain is attempting to walk between the raindrops with his integrity on the line, and, in the words of one knowledgeable observer, playing out the punchline of, "if you want a friend in this town, get a dog" (wearing lipstick.)

A question for Republicans to answer: How will Sen. McCain government [sic] with even slightly larger Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate? Triangulation? Acquiescence? Complete gridlock?
I didn't want to leave out a word. I hope Mr. Ambinder doesn't mind.

Look what they've done to themselves. How they even have a shot at this election is beyond me, election fraud aside.
