Taitz: Judge secretly met with Holder. Lawyer’s motion: Birthers seen as ‘batsh*t crazy’

By GottaLaff

Motion document here (pdf format)
Oh my, Birther Attorney Orly, wasn't Judge Land's threat of a $10,000 fine for frivolous filings enough for you?

Apparently not. Taitz is all wee-wee'd up again. She filed a 24-page demand that the judge recuse himself from the case mentioned below because:
Taitz alleges that Judge Clay Land met with Attorney General Eric Holder, who was allegedly spotted at a small coffee shop across from Land's courtroom in Columbus, Georgia, on the day of a Birther hearing.[...]

Her motion for the judge to recuse himself comes, remember, after Land shot down Taitz and her Army captain client's case alleging Barack Obama is not legitimately president. At that point, despite a warning against more frivolous filings, Taitz challenged the judge's order. And he gave her until last Friday to explain why she shouldn't be fined $10,000.

In the motion, Taitz, among other things:

  • Takes umbrage at judge's use of the term Birther to describe her, noting that it is often coupled with "even more colorful epithets such as 'batshit crazy'"

  • Says Land may be disqualified because he allegedly owns stock in Microsoft and Comcast which are "aligned both politically and economically with a key Defendant in this case" -- "the de facto President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama" (emphasis hers)

  • Says Land cannot be an impartial adjudicator of whether she should be sanctioned by the court because he has "radically PREJUDGED" the facts of the Birthers' case (caps hers)

  • Accuses Land of issuing "blitzkrieg-like rulings"

  • Compares Birther crusade to movement for desegregation, suggesting Land, whom she calls "this distinguished Southern Judge" would have been on the side of Jim Crow:

Surely this distinguished Southern Judge would have jailed Thurgood Marshall in the 1940s and '50s for contempt when the future Supreme Court Justice repeatedly filed cases demanding on constitutional as well as social and psychological grounds the desegregation of primary and secondary public schools against well-established precedents such as Plessy v. Fergusson, 163 U.S. 537 (1896)

Finally, Tatiz asks for more time -- until October 16 --- to respond to his order requiring her to explain why she shouldn't be fined $10,000. As she puts it:

The preparation of the response to this Order to Show Cause is in large part dependent upon whether the chief complaining witness, Judge Clay D. Land himself, will also serve as prosecuting attorney, judge, and jury of his complaint to impose a penalty for the undersigned attorney's alleged misconduct in the amount of $10,000.00
Anyone that has to include that many caps, bolds, and underlines in a legal document should really not be filing any more cases-- or be practicing law for that matter-- especially when they involve a judge who is already becoming just a tad cranky at the mere mention of the name Taitz.

Go back to real estate, Birther Attorney Orly.

From the Dep't. of the Predictable: Lawyer backs off alleged Biden tape

By GottaLaff

Here's the latest about the (original post) latest manufactured scandal:

Washington lawyer Thomas Dunlap says he no longer represents the owner of a tape that purports to show Vice President Joe Biden's daughter snorting cocaine. [...]

Dunlap, a managing partner at Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver, had been trying to sell the tape to British and U.S. news organizations for $250,000-$2 million, the Daily News reported. [...]

Dunlap reportedly broke ties with his client Sunday due to the intense coverage the story has generated, the newspaper said.
In other words, he wasn't willing to risk his career in pursuit of a bogus claim intended to do nothing more than smear the White House.

Update: Inconsistencies Arise Regarding Alleged Ashley Biden Cocaine Tape

By GottaLaff

Commenter Babzter e-mailed me this article. It's in response to my post last night about the allegations of drug use by Ashley Biden. Thank you, Babzter!:

Update 4: Why I think this is a fake: at Daily Dose

Update 3: This is getting weird. Now, the National Enquirer claims the exclusive, but they directly quote Radar's account, and provide no account of having watched the tape themselves.

Update 2:
The NY Post's account of what's on the tape differs significantly from Radar's, as do several other important details of the story. The Post describes the woman on the tape, less definitively, as "appear(ing) to resemble the 27-year-old Biden," and say that the woman in the tape uses a red straw, not a rolled-up dollar bill. The Post report also notes the woman shouting profanities, which Radar does not.

According to Radar, the tape was made without the woman's knowledge, but the Post says that she knew she was being taped. Also, the Post reports the asking price at $400k, down from $2 million, and that they didn't purchase the tape.

The most damning fact in the Post report, however, is this:
The shooter claims that he previously tape-recorded Biden at a party in August but was unsuccessful in his attempts to sell that video, they said.
Let's see, inconsistencies, a weaker resemblance, and the NY Post wouldn't buy it? Plus, the guy tried to shop a different tape during the election and couldn't get a bite? I smell fake.

Update:
I knew it! Radar has updated its story, identifying the NY newspaper in the running for the tape as the NY Post, publishers of quality smears like the Michelle Obama lobster lie. [...]

Even though there's no proof the person on the tape is Ashley Biden (remember another notable political hoax featuring an Ashley?),this will undoubtedly become a huge story over the course of the week. People everywhere will be asking, "Who is Ashley Biden?"
The author of this piece is saying much of what you and I said last night.
Whatever the true content of the tape, I hope the guy who shot it gets his quarter mil, and buys some warm sushi with it. More to come.
I'll update as more information is made available.

VIDEO-- Bill Richardson watch: The specifics

By GottaLaff

Just to catch you up on the specifics of the allegations:
NBC’s Lisa Myers reported last month:

“The allegations now being investigated by a federal grand jury involve whether Richardson as governor steered state bond business to a firm whose founder made substantial contributions to Richardson's political action committee. Two former state officials involved in the bond deals told NBC News that they testified before a grand jury in Albuquerque last week. One official says prosecutors focused on whether Richardson or staff pushed to give business to CDR Financial Products. It specifically asked about what's called pay to play.”
Bill Richardson "avows his innocence".
