Obama has most legislative success of any modern president -- including Reagan

By GottaLaff

Why, this must mean everyone has been wrong! The punditiots have been wrong, the memes have been wrong, the wrongistas have been wrong.

Yes, as difficult as this is to process, the Democratic Congress (that is apparently in dire straits, especially after President Scott Brown got elected) has been successful.

Under President Obama's leadership.

Democratic.

Congress.

Successful:

Norm Ornstein argues that despite poor approval rates "this Democratic Congress is on a path to become one of the most productive since the Great Society 89th Congress in 1965-66, and Obama already has the most legislative success of any modern president -- and that includes Ronald Reagan and Lyndon Johnson. The deep dysfunction of our politics may have produced public disdain, but it has also delivered record accomplishment."
Imagine that.

Approval of Congress Hits Four-Year High, Fueled by Dems

Sing it to the mountaintops! Seriously, I can't stop laughing. Wonder if this poll will be repeated over and over on teh cablers?

PRINCETON, NJ -- Americans' job approval rating of Congress is up an additional 8 points this month, after a 12-point increase last month, and now stands at 39% -- the most positive assessment of Congress since February 2005.

Americans who identify themselves as Democrats are mostly responsible for the improved ratings of Congress measured in the March 5-8 Gallup Poll. After showing a 25-point increase in their approval of Congress from January to February and a further 14-point increase in March, a majority of Democrats (57%) now approve of the job the Democratically-controlled Congress is doing. Independents also show improved ratings of Congress, but not nearly to the extent that Democrats do. Republicans' evaluations of Congress have changed very little this year.

Poll-itics: Americans want Dems in charge of Congress

By GottaLaff

From the Department of Duh:

Congressional Republicans’ big pitch late in the 2008 campaign was the need for a GOP-controlled Congress to check a President Obama — but a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll Thursday suggests most Americans think the country is better off with Democrats in charge of both chambers.

According to the new survey, 56 percent of Americans say Democrats should control Congress, while 31 percent say Republicans should.
