Sotomayor Tied To Bill Ayers In New Ad By Conservative Group

By GottaLaff

What next? Rushpublic warnings that Judge Sotomayor can see Jane Fonda from her front porch?

The conservative judicial activist group Committee for Justice released an ad on Tuesday connecting Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the '60s radical and Obama campaign scourge Bill Ayers. [...]

"Remember Barack Obama's buddy Bill Ayers? The unrepentant terrorist who bombed American buildings in the 70s? Turns out President Obama has done it again, picking someone for the Supreme Court, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, who led a group supporting violent Puerto Rican terrorists. Is this radical judge the type of person America needs sitting on our highest court? What is he thinking? What was she thinking."

Oooo, scary stuff.

Swiftboating President Obama with links to Bill Ayers worked so well for conservatives in 2008, it was bound to become their default ad campaign. If they keep this up, eventually we should have the entire Supreme Court stacked with liberal Commie Marxist Socialist judges.

Keep up the good work, Committee for (!)Justice(!).

Bill Ayers has an idea for Palin

By GottaLaff

http://nmorton.files.wordpress.com/2008/09/bill-ayer2.jpg
Yes, that Bill Ayers. And since it's Interview-Me Palin's big day, I couldn't let the day go by without a special Birthday Post:

Now that the campaign rhetoric has subsided, Ayers has an idea for a new show starring his Alaskan nemesis.

I did send her a note after the election,” he says of Palin in the upcoming issue of the New York Times magazine. “I suggested that we have a talk show together called ‘Pallin’ Around With Sarah and Bill.’ I haven’t heard back.”

Maybe he should have pitched it as a sit-com.

Bill Ayers Speaks Out

By GottaLaff

Pallin' around with the truth:

William Ayers, writing in the New York Times: "Now that the election is over, I want to say as plainly as I can that the character invented to serve this drama wasn't me, not even close... President-elect Obama and I sat on a board together; we lived in the same diverse and yet close-knit community; we sometimes passed in the bookstore. We didn't pal around, and I had nothing to do with his positions. I knew him as well as thousands of others did, and like millions of others, I wish I knew him better."
And there's this:

I never killed or injured anyone. I did join the civil rights movement in the mid-1960s, and later resisted the draft and was arrested in nonviolent demonstrations. I became a full-time antiwar organizer for Students for a Democratic Society. In 1970, I co-founded the Weather Underground, an organization that was created after an accidental explosion that claimed the lives of three of our comrades in Greenwich Village. The Weather Underground went on to take responsibility for placing several small bombs in empty offices — the ones at the Pentagon and the United States Capitol were the most notorious — as an illegal and unpopular war consumed the nation.

The Weather Underground crossed lines of legality, of propriety and perhaps even of common sense. Our effectiveness can be — and still is being — debated. We did carry out symbolic acts of extreme vandalism directed at monuments to war and racism, and the attacks on property, never on people, were meant to respect human life and convey outrage and determination to end the Vietnam war. [...]

I cannot imagine engaging in actions of that kind today. And for the past 40 years, I’ve been teaching and writing about the unique value and potential of every human life, and the need to realize that potential through education.

I have regrets, of course — including mistakes of excess and failures of imagination, posturing and posing, inflated and heated rhetoric, blind sectarianism and a lot else. No one can reach my age with their eyes even partly open and not have hundreds of regrets. The responsibility for the risks we posed to others in some of our most extreme actions in those underground years never leaves my thoughts for long.

The antiwar movement in all its commitment, all its sacrifice and determination, could not stop the violence unleashed against Vietnam. And therein lies cause for real regret.

Another smear on Obama put to rest

By GottaLaff

First, how do you spell this guy's last name: Ayers? Or Ayres? I can't seem to find the definitive answer, but here is a pretty definitive answer about his "association" with Barack Obama:
What "radical" ideas did Obama and Bill Ayres come up with to foist on the Chicago school system?

What specific projects -- "radical" projects -- did Obama work on with Ayres? Is there evidence that they collaborated and schemed to ... do anything "radical" together? Ever?

Or just that they served on a board of a fairly well-respected liberal charity at the same time? And that left-leaning charities tend to give money to left-leaning organizations, a la ACORN?

Is the real story here that Obama once served on the board of a liberal education charity?
Mr. Laffy once wrote an HBO series that starred O.J. Simpson. Would that make him a double-murder accessory?

Oh! ::V-8 moment. Smacks head:: I get it now! The radicalism was metaphorical.
