Liveblogging Prez O's remarks on the passage of the Baucus Bill:

He's thanking the committee, specifically Olympia Snowe for her courage.

The bill is not perfect, we have a lot of difficult work ahead of us... over the next weeks. I do believe the work... has brought us significantly closer to... my objectives: Security to those with insurance, options for those who don't. Reins in the insurance industry, makes coverage affordable, slows growth of costs without adding a penny...

We've reached out to stakeholders across the spectrum... hospitals, workers, doctors, etc.

We are now closer than ever before to passing reform, but not there yet. Not time to pat ourselves on the back. Time to work harder.

Let's engage each other with the civility and seriousness that has brought us this far [Laffy Note: Really??]
