Rasmussen Poll: "Tea Party" more popular than Republican Party

A new Rasmussen poll suggests that the Tea Party movement is far and away more popular than the Republican Party it seeks to influence -- so much so that if it were a full-fledged political party, it would overtake the GOP on the generic Congressional ballot.

The question was phrased as follows: "Okay, suppose the Tea Party Movement organized itself as a political party. When thinking about the next election for Congress, would you vote for the Republican candidate from your district, the Democratic candidate from your district, or the Tea Party candidate from your district?"

The results: Democratic 36%, Tea Party 23%, Republican 18%.

Health Care Plan Gets Bump After Obama Speech

Very good signs. Seems the country likes that Muslim Kenyan Commie Socialist guy. Rasmussen even.

Support for President Obama's health care reform plan "continues to grow following the president's speech to Congress last Wednesday night. It has now risen to the highest level yet measured, and, for the first time, shows a slight uptick in support among Republicans and voters not affiliated with either party," according to a new Rasmussen Reports poll.

The survey finds tht 51% of voters nationwide now favor the plan while 46% are opposed.

Republican Voters Say GOP Reps in Congress Still Out of Touch

Sigh. Even as the Dems screw up royally the R's are still outdoing them. It may be the only thing that saves us.

Seventy-four percent (74%) of Republican voters say their party’s representatives in Congress have lost touch with GOP voters nationwide over the past several years. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that just 18% of GOP voters believe their elected officials have done a good job representing the base.

Most Republican voters (55%) say that the average Republican in Congress is more liberal than the average Republican voter. Twenty-four percent (24%) say the average Republican in Congress holds views about the same as the average Republican voter while just 17% think the Congressional Republicans are more conservative than GOP voters.

Republican voters overwhelmingly believe it is more important for the party to stand for what it believes in rather than trying to work with President Barack Obama. Eighty-four percent (84%) of Republicans hold that view while just 14% favor more co-operation with the President.

Poll: Bush Still Owns The Economy

There was a fair amount of talk last week about new polls showing an erosion of support for some of President Obama’s economic policies, with many opining that Obama now “owns” the economy.

But new numbers from Rasmussen suggest that a majority still blames the bad economy squarely on George W. Bush:

Some people say the nation’s current economic problems are due to the recession which began under the Bush Administration. Others say the problems are being caused more by the policies President Obama has put in place since taking office. Which point of view comes closest to your own?

Poll: Americans Favor Universal Healthcare, Just Not for Illegal Immigrants

The haters have done such a good job of boogeymanning the immigrants that they just don't get that we would pay for their health care anyway.
