-- Former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-MS), in an interview with The Hill, urging Senate Republicans to "pull out the stops" to persuade Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) to join their ranks.

Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.), head of National Republican Senatorial Committee, said Monday that following the election the GOP would welcome Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) “with open arms.”
“I think Joe's a terrific guy with a lot of integrity and does what he believes,” Ensign said in an interview on MSNBC. “It'll be interesting to see how the Democrats handle Joe Lieberman after what he's done in this presidential race. But as far as Republicans are concerned, we welcome him with open arms.”
