Obama to appear in Cleveland Thursday to talk health care

In that basketyballing lingo, wouldn't this be called a "full court press"?

CLEVELAND -- President Barack Obama will be in Northeast Ohio Thursday to discuss health care reform, White House officials said Saturday.

They did not yet have a specific time or location for the event.

The appearance comes as Obama's health care plan is in jeopardy of falling apart. Republicans and some Democrats have criticized it as too expensive.

Obama is scheduled to hold a news conference Wednesday to further discuss his health care plan.

'A Christmas Story' 25th anniversary draws crowds to Cleveland house

Gee, you'd think the media is ready for Christmas to come. The whole article is cute, go read.

The streets of Cleveland were still asleep Friday when the Gillens of Miami, Fla., bolted through the hotel lobby, ready to see the city that helped make their father famous.
Like caffeinated shoppers tracking deals, the Gillens were a jangle of joy. After all, the city threads through the family's past; it's where their late father starred in "A Christmas Story."

Twenty-five years ago, Jeff Gillen played the scary, worn-out Santa listening to a little boy in the movie classic that did much of its filming in Cleveland.

This weekend, his wife, Arlene, and children, Phil and Elana, are joining about 4,000 people to visit a convention at the Renaissance Hotel and A Christmas Story House in Tremont.

Here's the story:

FBI and IRS agents served at least 10 search warrants Monday at Cuyahoga County offices and homes as part of a public corruption investigation.

About 200 FBI agents descended on the county administration building in Cleveland. Agents, some brought in from Pittsburgh to help with the searches, also searched the county engineer's office and an information services center.

"This stems from a long-term public corruption investigation," FBI spokesman Scott Wilson said.
Sorry, Firefox issues. I'm putting this one up relatively unfinished. More to come if/when warranted.
