Okay, this crap just creeps me out. X-Files anyone? Maybe the Feds should take a close look.
Boise Fire Department officials were still scratching their heads Monday over a strange case involving the death of two pets and a plant in a Boise home Sunday.
They tested the air and water in the home for toxic agents that may have killed the resident's two pet rats and a plant near the cage but found nothing.
"We cleared the scene and chalked it up as an enigma," said Boise Fire Department Captain Dan Mannion, who admitted that the team hated to leave without knowing what was behind the rat and plant deaths.

Mannion said the owner told firefighters that the plant was flourishing until Sunday, when it died suddenly. The rats also died Sunday.
Another family pet appeared ill, and a woman at the residence had had a headache for two days.
"In the same time frame, the dog's back was unnaturally arched, expressing some kind of pain," Mannion said.
There is a gas furnace in the home, but investigators were able to rule out carbon monoxide poisoning immediately.
