Obama appoints Cassandra Butts as Deputy White House Counsel

Think Progress now has a former colleague in the White House:

Today, President-elect Obama announced several key additions to his White House staff, including our former colleague Cassandra Butts, who will be Deputy White House Counsel with a Focus on Domestic Policy and Ethics. Since their days at Harvard Law School, Cassandra has been a close friend and adviser to Obama. She currently serves as the transition team’s general counsel and previously, while at CAP, she filled the role of Senior Vice President for Domestic Policy.
