Right-wing blogger Dan Riehl: "Isn't It Time To Euthanize Reid's Wife?"
By GottaLaff
Alan Colmes just pointed me to a post about it... a nasty, disgusting post. Dan Riehl needs to be exposed for the heartless sicko that he is:
If Democrats want so badly to abort babies [...] why are we bothering with someone who has a broken neck and back at 69? It sounds to me like she's pretty well used up and has probably been living off the taxpayers for plenty of years [...]
I don't see that she's worth it at this point, frankly. I can't recall her ever doing anything for me.
And it is, after all, all about Danny Boy, who seems pretty "used up" himself.
Yes, it's all about him: The car accident. The frantic worry about Reid's family. The horror and physical suffering. Wow, how could that insensitive Landra Reid allowed herself to end up hospitalized after all Riehl has done for her?
Come on, Harry - do your civic duty. [...] Pull the plug and get back to work. And don't bill us for a full day today, either. [...] Air freight her home, you can bury her during recess on your own time and dime. Or are you going to bill us for that, too?
I'd love the media to get hold of this story and put this guy out of business, allowing him to join the ranks of the unemployed.
That way he could very well find himself without medical coverage. Wouldn't that be ironic?
Then let's see how he'd feel about the pain of living in the Riehl world.
UPDATE: Celtic Diva has more.

Video- Lindsey Graham: The Health Care Debate Will Be 'The End Of Minority Rights' As We Know it
Our messaging sucks part #9,456. Dems should be out highlighting the crybabies in the GOP running around with their hankies to quell the tears. Asshats.

ACORN Pimp aka PhoneGater accuses others of " journalistic malpractice"
By GottaLaff
Here's what Pimpy McBreakIn is saying now:
On reflection, I could have used a different approach to this investigation, particularly given the sensitivities that people understandably have about security in a federal building. [...]He says a whole lot more, too. Please follow the link to read all of it.
It has been amazing to witness the journalistic malpractice committed by many of the organizations covering this story.
Tommy Christopher says:This is the same Tommy Christopher who appeared in my pilot webisode of Blunt. When O’Keefe says “The government has now confirmed what has always been clear: No one tried to wiretap or bug Senator Landrieu’s office. Nor did we try to cut or shut down her phone lines,” he doesn’t provide any evidence of this confirmation. The original affidavit states that they tried to gain access to the telephone closet, and that it was probable that their intention was to maliciously interfere with the telephone system.
O’Keefe’s revision notwithstanding, reporting the contents of an FBI document can hardly be considered “journalistic malpractice.” Journalists have a duty to report facts from credible sources, not to tailor them to James O’Keefe’s legal defense.
Any way you look at it, PhoneGate McHatCam is in hot water. And he's no "kid" as he is referred to in so many reports. He's 25, and his father is a federal attorney.
He knew better. He broke the law. He did this under the guise of being a journalist. I'd call that "journalistic malpractice".

VIDEO- Rep. Steve King: The real story is shielding ACORN, not NOLAGate
By GottaLaff
So this is what a conservative journalist looks like:
Dave Weigel has more, but watch Rep. King do the "O'Keefe's innocent until proven guilty" dance.
"I don't need a lot more evidence to think there's something wrong with ACORN, I saw it with my own eyes. I didn't see James O'Keefe"
.... regardless of the fact that there's been no trial.
Rushpublic hypocrisy in action.

Congressman Who Sponsored Resolution Honoring O’Keefe Criticizes Landrieu Sting
By GottaLaff
What a great plan! Oh, and so was O'Keefe's.
Here's what Olson told Dave Weigel (in part):
Individuals who lawfully expose wrongful activities by an entity like ACORN receiving federal tax dollars should be praised. [...] Citizens have an important role in helping to expose waste and/or fraud when their tax dollars are being spent, but it must be done in a lawful manner.Go here for more.
"ACORN Pimp" busted
By GottaLaff
Finally, I get to post about his bustification:
The FBI, alleging a plot to wiretap Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu's office in downtown New Orleans, arrested four people Monday, including James O'Keefe, a conservative filmmaker whose undercover videos at ACORN field offices severely damaged the advocacy group's credibility.Gee, hypocritical much? This from the genius who was doing everything in his sleazy little power to bust ACORN.
FBI Special Agent Steven Rayes alleges that O'Keefe aided and abetted two others, Joseph Basel and Robert Flanagan, who dressed up as employees of a telephone company and attempted to interfere with the office's telephone system.
A fourth person, Stan Dai, was accused of aiding and abetting Basel and Flanagan. All four were charged with entering fedral property under false pretenses with the intent of committing a felony.
A witness from Landrieu's staff said O'Keefe was present in the office and claimed to be "waiting for someone to arrive."
Bugging a Senator's office, that's using your noodle.
Couldn't happen to a more deserving pimp.
More here and here.

Donna Brazile: Losing Kennedy's seat a gift
By GottaLaff
“John, we lost a very important seat, a very important vote,” Democratic strategist Donna Brazile told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King Sunday on CNN’s State of the Union.
“It’s a disappointment,” Brazile also told King. “It hurts like hell. I can’t tell you how much it hurts. But, it’s also a gift. If we learn the lessons to get back to the basics, to deliver for the American people the change we promised them in 2008.”
Of course, then a "compassionate conservative" showed what a big, fat, oozy heart he has with this Very Special Comeback:
“Well, maybe we can find more under the tree,” Bill Bennett, the host of conservative talk show “Morning in America,” said in response to Brazile. “If that’s the gift, then we want to keep on giving,” the conservative commentator added.Bill has such a flair for ooze.
Brazile:
“This is not a defeat that should cause Democrats to become demoralized or to begin to fail in their pledge to change the country. This is an opportunity,” Brazile said Sunday.
Now that's heart we can believe in.

"I can't wait to follow EXACTLY what Beck tells us"
By GottaLaff
Via where else? Twitter:

There's nothing like authoritarianism and blind followers to ruin a perfectly good country.
Come to think of it, isn't it rather contradictory to follow "EXACTLY" what Blech tells one to do... to avoid impending dictatorship?
Why, I do believe FreedomTCOT's thoughts and actions are being ::dun-dun-dun-n-n:: controlled! Let's not tell him.

NY-23: 95% of Hoffman Cash From Out of District
By GottaLaff
We crunched the FEC contribution numbers this afternoon to discover that 95 percent of Hoffman’s donations came from individuals and PACs based outside of the district. (Hoffman himself doesn’t even live in NY-23.) Only $12,360 of the $265,341 he’s raised came from potential constituents. One guess who donated the mo$t. Come on, just throw a name out there. No? You got nothin'?
Hint: Club for Growth.
Hoffman’s been criticized in local NY-23 press for his weak grasp of district issues [...]And this loser will most likely end up a winner? Oy.

AUDIO- Nancy Pelosi to conservative reporter: "Are you serious? Are you serious?"
By GottaLaff
Nance is running out of patience, as are many of the rest of us. The question from CNSNews was, “Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?”
At that point, I would have offered CNSNews Guy a free Colorado balloon ride.
Pressed on the issue by a reporter from a conservative website, Pelosi shot back: "Are you serious? Are you serious?"
As background, some conservatives claim that it is unconstitutional for the federal government to demand that individuals purchase health insurance.Who has time or patience for stupid questions like this? Maybe she should start carrying around a slew of those little Senator Byrd-pocket-U.S. Constitutions to hand out to these "reporters" just prior to walking away while shaking her head slowly.

VIDEO-- Glenn Beck: "I went to the movies this weekend... with a gun."
By GottaLaff
My guess? Beck shoots blanks:
"I went to the movies this weekend... with a gun. And surprise surprise, I didn't kill anybody."What, he brought a gun to the movies, because he couldn't get a human being to go with him?
For someone like Glenn Blech-ch-ch, not shooting anyone is quite an accomplishment. Thanks for sharing.
Although I'm guessing that there may have been a few moviegoers who were tempted to use one on him.

Conservative Kathy Shaidle: "Today's 'poor' are fat, slovenly, wasteful of their money and other people's"
By GottaLaff
Remember Paddy's post, a video of Michelle Obama volunteering at a soup kitchen? What a sap the First Lady was! I bet you didn't realize that poor folks are really cell-phone hoarding, tattooed boozers. Via Wonkette, without whom I'd have never have been introduced to this:
So now America’s conservative pundits are very upset that this supposedly homeless man has a telephone, so poverty isn’t actually a problem, and we’re even “blessed” to have such rich homeless people in the United States. As promised, he-e-e-ere's Kathy! (who is also mentioned in this Salon post)
[W]hy is a guy with a cellphone homeless? [...]He spends all his (our) money on cellphones and, most likely, tattoos and drugs and booze and other crap, and has no money left for a home and food. And why should he bother? We pay for his shelter and food anyhow. [...]
What's really funny in that news story by the way is what they're serving at the soup kitchen: risotto with brocolli. Obviously some rich white liberal did the cooking that day, feeling all proud of herself, and what thanks did she get? Some lowclass loser going, "You expect me to eat this weird crap?!"
But oops:
As Salon’s Alex Koppelman notes, the “weird crap” is simply “rice cooked in chicken stock with some vegetables.” Jesus, this Shaidle person is a night terror. WHO IS SHE?
Our new bff, that big-hearted, charitable, humanitarian sack of malignant wordplay, Kindly Kathy:
Aren't the Rushpublics compassionate? Who could resist that kind of charm? Let's file this one under "2010".And Salon's Alex Koppelman is obviously a delusional liberal pantywaist who can't stand to have his romantic notions about "poverty" challenged (by someone who knows what they're talking about firsthand, and is also a better writer than he is.)
I'd rather be right than "nice" and "polite" -- and so would any intelligent adult who values the truth.I'm betting Alex Koppelman is a grown man who still rides a bicycle. By choice. On the sidewalk.
I'm thrilled. That line is going to look SO great on my next book jacket.
Between that and my handgun license coming in the mail this aft, this is turning into my favorite day in a long time!

VIDEO-- CPAC's "Republican rapper": "Obama's a naked Marxist"
By GottaLaff
Max Blumenthal does it again. First he gives us the scrum-diddly-umptious gift of the latest John Ziegler meltdown. Now he introduces us to Hi-Caliber, the world's first self-proclaimed Republican rapper aka conservative hip-hop artist. And what a national resource is he!
After 10 minutes of exposure to Michael Savage's rants on his car radio, Hi-Caliber was utterly inspired. He turned hard right, and we're not talkin' GPS directions here. As he says, "it was like an epiphany".
He is a self-described "positive conservative" from Jersey. One of his golden moments: "Global warming is a buncha hype." What could be more positive than that? And this:
Now Hi-Caliber records inspired battle anthems against President Barack Obama, who he denounces as a "socialist in the White House;" he attacks Nancy Pelosi as "phony baloney;" assails the liberal media; calls for a border fence; and warns darkly of the Fairness Doctrine.

Myth-information: Because the media is so freakin' liberal edition
By GottaLaff
CBS: We Still Need More Right-Wingers: CBS hires Dem-hating right-wing consultant as new PR Chief.More on who this guy is:
Conservatives have complained for years that there are too many liberals in the mainstream media. Starting Monday, though, they'll have at least one of their own at CBS News.
Jeff Ballabon, an Orthodox Jew and political and communications consultant whom The Forward called "the architect of Bush's 2004 re-election effort in the Orthodox community," is the new senior vice president for communications at CBS News. He starts Monday and, according to a CBS press release, will be in charge of "all media relations and public affairs for CBS News, including strategy and planning, day-to-day publicity, internal and external communications" and coordination with the CBS News website. [...]
Ballabon said CBS reached out to him [...]
"The key to success is the ability to be empathetic with a diversity of viewpoints," he said, adding that his background as an Orthodox Jew has sometimes made him feel like "somewhat of an outsider in society" and thus he never thinks that he should be imposing his viewpoint on others.
And he quips that "with the current political environment, the mainstream media actually seemed like the more moderate atmosphere."[UPDATE: Ballabon's self characterization doesn't fly with Ira Forman of the National Jewish Democratic Council. Forman tells Capital J that during one forum the two participated in, Ballabon said that Democrats in Washington are evil and Republicans in Washington are good.]
There you have it. Another objective member of the corporate media.
It's good to see he won't have much control... except for his fingerprints showing up on anything and everything CBS Newsy.
Full press release here.

10 reasons why Barack Obama is not president
By GottaLaff
UPDATE: CORRECTION and complete version HERE. I was finally able to track down the site of the man who Thom Hartmann interviewed. That's the problem with hearing only part of an interview. I caught the segments that sounded genuine enough... coming from Republicans. It's often hard to distinguish between their reality and satire.
Original post:
Bill O'Reilly will be hosting a Fox show called, "Ten Reasons Why Barack Obama is Not President", or something very close to that. The reasons include: the time he was sworn in, the Big Birth Certificate Issue, that he speaks too sensibly for most Americans, palling around with terrorists makes him an enemy combatant, that he's half white and half black...
No, I'm not kidding. I wish I'd caught the rest of this, but I was otherwise engaged.
The sub for Thom Hartmann interviewed a blogger who has posted the rest of the information, but I missed the link. What does it really matter, you get the gist.
These people are mentally ill.

Psst! President Obama didn't really write his own books. Ace says so.
By GottaLaff
I don't want to add a word to what David Weigel wrote over at the Washington Independent. The blog title is enough.
Oh, and according to Weigel, "Ace" is Ace of Spades, a top conservative blogger (he won an award for his stuff at last year’s CPAC).
Go read his very short piece over there. Then come back here and have at it.
