President Obama & his wife Michelle came back as promised to eat Barbeque at 12 Bones in the Asheville RAD. (River Arts District) He tried the Blueberry Chipotle & she, the Brown Sugar Rubbed Ribs with greens & baked beans. We are honored to share our neighborhood with the First Family.
Wow that sounds good!
I never get tired of watching the Obama family, especially at casual restaurants. Why is that?
And now I'm hungry. Thanks, Obamas.

Mrs. Obama came to Mexico to launch an international effort to engage young people everywhere and encourage them to become leaders and problem-solvers in their communities. [...]
Neither Obama is a product of privilege; both came from humble circumstances. Her parents weren't wealthy or college-educated. He never really knew his father and was raised by his mother.
There she goes indoctrinating children again... even in Mexico. Why, before you know it, kids all over the world will begin to want to reach goals and strive for success!

Michelle Obama to arrive in Mexico Tuesday for three-day visit
Keeping busy while hubby tries to save the world.
WASHINGTON (CNN) – Michelle Obama is scheduled to arrive in Mexico on Tuesday evening on her first solo official trip as first lady.
The White House is billing the three-day visit as being "in recognition of the deep ties between the United States and Mexico."
Obama has several visits and tours scheduled, including a Wednesday morning meeting with Mexican first lady Margarita Zavala at Los Pinos, the Mexican president's residency. Other events on her itinerary include a tour of the Museo Nacional de Antropologia (National Museum of Anthropology) and a public elementary school that serves local low-income students.

Good Housekeeping mag goes Photoshop happy on First Lady Michelle
It really is awful. H/t Moms Word. Via Gawker (photo to compare here)-
The May issue of the mag is a Special Collector's Issue, and not just because it's full of "home makeovers." No, you'll definitely want to hold on to this one, because Michelle's got a makeover too! The entire bottom half of Michelle's face seems to have been replaced, her forehead has been nicely tightened, and the entire right (our left) side of her face seems to have scored some extreme chiseling. A solid helmet head and weird lighting finish off her look. Like a beautiful painting, this one's a real keepsake.

Nickelodeon giving `Big Help' award to first lady
Bullshit everywhere, but Michelle keeps plugging along.
NEW YORK – First lady Michelle Obama is getting attention from the Nickelodeon kids' television network — and it has nothing to do with green slime.
Nickelodeon said Thursday it will honor Mrs. Obama with its "Big Help" award at the Kids' Choice Awards. She has taped a message for Saturday's show.
She is being honored for her "Let's Move" campaign to help cut down on childhood obesity.
Nick has been working with Mrs. Obama on the campaign. It has donated $3 million to school and after-school programs to create opportunities for physical play. Nickelodeon executive Marva Smalls says that with Mrs. Obama's activity, forces are aligning not just to place blame but to move forward.

Michelle Obama’s Bees Ready for Spring
I'm not much of a tchotke kind of person, but I'd love to own one of those bottles.
It's year two for first lady Michelle Obama's veggie garden, and plans are underway to begin planting at the end of the month. And when the spring crops sprout, the honeybees will be ready to pollinate. First beekeeper Charlie Brandts tells us that despite a serious mite infestation last year, the lone hive some 20 yards from the garden survived the harsh winter, and the bees are already starting to haul pollen in from the South Lawn. "It's doing very well; it's in a good site," says Brandts, a hobby beekeeper and White House carpenter.

First Lady Michelle Obama wowed Washington on Wednesday with her stunning acrobatic display during the Healthy Kids Fair.
And that's not all. She's bringing back the Hula Hoop craze:
Pictures of her hula hooping impressively on the White House lawn as part of a health promotion event were beamed across the world last October. Mrs Obama hula hooped 142 times without stopping and inspired thousands of women of all ages to have a go themselves.
