More text messages from my student:

I got there at 4:30. It was 12 degrees all day with windchill. My group and a few next to us got there around ten and wrapped up in blankets and tinfoil blankets.

The media was all over the place in the morning. A lot of the people there were very talkative to the jumbotrons. They'd agree and disagree verbally with Obama.

At about 7, they started playing the concert from Sunday and the crowd became like a dance party.

A lot of the people were rocking out.

One of my students is in Washington D.C. Here are her text messages, verbatim:

Highlights of the day:

These people tore down the gates around the inauguration when it was through. They had to call the army in to police it.

Also, whenever a Democrat came to the stage, they were cheered and when the Bush administration came on, everyone booed. And during the first religious speech, almost everyone around me cried.

She should be texting me again. One personal teen p.o.v., and she's having the time of her life.

Do you feel betrayed?

I've been up all night (not because of Biden), and caught the early announcement of the ticket. I have to admit, it did help me sleep better for the three hours I got in. However, all I kept hearing (and this morning, reading) was how angry Obama texters will be because the news leaked early. Apparently he betrayed our trust.

I don't feel the least bit betrayed. Do you?

In case you haven't seen it, this is the "famous e-mail":

Dear [Laffy],

I have some important news that I want to make official.

I've chosen Joe Biden to be my running mate.

Joe and I will appear for the first time as running mates this afternoon in Springfield, Illinois -- the same place this campaign began more than 19 months ago.
