Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell (D) told RNN-TV that he has tried to talk Sen. Arlen Specter (R-PA) about switching his party affiliation to the Democrats but he's not budging, according to TPM.

Said Rendell: "We've tried. Myself, Senator Casey, Vice President Biden have tried to talk him into it, but he's bound and determined to stay a Republican."

Did they really think he'd switch teams?
