Minority Whip Eric Cantor has come out against Obama's housing bill before it's even been released. That little eager beaver of the Party of No must be clairvoyant:
House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said that the Obama administration's yet-to-be-announced $50 billion plan to stem home foreclosures may only add to the country's fiscal and housing problems.Hold on there just a minute, Whippy McWhippington. In the video, you claim that nobody had time to read the stimulus bill before the vote. Yet you feel free to publicly oppose President Obama's housing bill prior to studying it. Check that. Prior to its debut.
Cantor, on CBS on Monday, worried that another government program could hurt taxpayers. Obama is expected this week to unveil a plan to help prevent foreclosures, perhaps by giving federal subsidies allowing reductions in mortgage payments. Though Cantor said he supported some sort of government effort to to get lenders to lessen payments, he expressed concern about the program's price tag.
It seems Little Whippy is suffering from premature flagellation.
How's about opening that small mind of yours just for a second or two, hmm?
Cantor has led Republican efforts to oppose the $787 billion stimulus package, which was deemed by Democrats and Obama as necessary to create jobs and jumpstart the economy.Maybe I'm the one who's being premature. It could just be that the Godawful Opposition Party's minority whipper-snapper doesn't know how to read.
