More "game changing" books coming

By GottaLaff

Just when you'd had enough of gossipy books like Game Change:

Bob Woodward and at least two other prominent political journalists, Jonathan Alter and Ryan Lizza, have similar books about the Obama administration coming out this year," Politico reports.
What a relief! There hasn't been enough media gossip about President Obama in the past two years.

These books should provide plenty of distraction from trivial matters like immigration reform, the economy, health care, Afghanistan, Pakistan... That stuff can get so dry and complex.

I can hear ClusterFox salivating from here. I wonder if Sarah Palin will have quit by then.

Obama now subject of 60 kids' books

Guess they're selling pretty well, otherwise there wouldn't be so many, eh? (We've got an excellent one for sale over there ---> )

MANHATTAN, Kan., Nov. 17 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama has been the subject of more children's books in less than a year than his predecessor was in eight years, a researcher says.

Phil Nel, a professor of English at Kansas State University, said about 60 books have been written about the president, about 25 before his election and 35 since. That doesn't count books about Obama's relatives and Bo, the White House dog.

Nel presented a paper, "Obamafiction for Children: Imagining the 44th U.S. President," at the American Studies Association conference in Washington, D.C.

"For those unfamiliar with the American book market, to have this many children's books about a candidate or a president so soon in his term of office is rather unusual," Nel said. "After eight years in office, George W. Bush inspired 17 fewer titles than Obama."

Bob Woodward Writing on Obama

As much as I love Obama, you have to admit that most libraries are going to have to build new wings just for all the PBO books. Via Taegan-

Since the inauguration, Bob Woodward has been quietly reporting a new book on the Obama White House, according to the New Republic.

Said Woodward: "I'm in the preliminary stages of working on it. I'm working on it and making progress."

The White House says, at least officially, it is not adopting a special press strategy to respond to Woodward.
