I checked the website to get an idea where Obama stands on Prop 8 and associated bigotry:
"Support Full Civil Unions and Federal Rights for LGBT Couples: Barack Obama supports full civil unions
that give same-sex couples equal legal rights and privileges as married couples. Obama also believes we need
to repeal the Defense of Marriage Act and enact legislation that would ensure that the 1,100+ federal legal
rights and benefits currently provided on the basis of marital status are extended to same-sex couples in civil
unions and other legally-recognized unions. These rights and benefits include the right to assist a loved one in
times of emergency, the right to equal health insurance and other employment benefits, and property rights.
Oppose a Constitutional Ban on Same-Sex Marriage: Barack Obama voted against the Federal Marriage
Amendment in 2006 which would have defined marriage as between a man and a woman and prevented judicial
extension of marriage-like rights to same-sex or other unmarried couples. “We are better than this. And we
certainly owe the American people more than this. I know that this amendment will fail, and when it does, I
hope we can start discussing issues and offering proposals that will actually improve the lives of most
Americans.” (Barack Obama on the Senate floor regarding the Federal Marriage Amendment, June 5, 2006)"
Sounds like things will still get done now that we have a competent president.
Hey Paddy, I took the survey for youse guys. Curious question about Segways: Have you ever ridden one? Ride weekly? Monthly? Yearly? LESS THAN YEARLY???
Is Big Segway a threat to democracy?
Checking in late as usual. :)
There is so much emotion in the air, it is like snow at Christmas. Makes me want to cry, laugh, sing out loud or just gaze in wonder at it all. It is here, it is real, and we all get to be a part of it. Every time I see the photos, watch these videos, the crowds, the reactions, the individual and personal expressions, it washes over me again and I just have to stop and catch my breath again.
Dr. King spoke of his Dream. Now we have the Proof. It is more than a dream.
Whatever the hard realities of the days to come, Hope has returned to America, and now it truly belongs to everyone.
I am a supporter of George Bush. All of you idiots that bash GW have forgotten how good this countsry had it for many years of his administration. Clinton and Barney Franks and his gay buddies caused the financial meltdown.
Now that Obama will be our president, I am a good soldier and will support him however I will oppose him on issues I think are bad for the country. I saw his first press conference today and he was intelligent and elegant. I wish him all the luck and support we can give him. Remember, the government is not the full answer. Get off your lazy asses and work for this country. I hope Obama succeeds in every way. We need america to get back on its feet. Quit Bush bashing. Look what he did for us after 9/11 to get the country back on its feet. Yes, the Iraq war he made blunders. Remember Vietnam war, and the Korean war. Why did we fight over there?

Yes, it is the All Powerful Gays that brought our country to financial ruin. We're just like that. I'm glad that someone finally realizes just how powerful we are. You know The Gays are so powerful that we keep passing all those gay rights laws all over the country, just like we did this election in Florida and Arkansas and Arizona and California.
Oh wait. What? We didn't get those gay rights laws passed?
Well, at least we have the smug satisfaction knowing that all those prominent Homos like Alan Greenspan were able to destroy the Country's financial systems.
Soldier Stephan, I'm just curious, what part of our country has had it good? Please clue me in -- I'd like to go there. What part of the Bush administration do you believe helped our economy after 911? Was it the $10 Billion tax payor dollars that is poured into both wars ever 3 weeks, or the $750 billion used to bail out Wall Street that never did? Just curious -- were you around on the day back in February 2008 when Americans were forwarned that the gas prices were going to skyrocket even further and up to $3-$4 a gallon and Bush said "that's news to me...we've never had a stronger economy"? He obviously wasn't pumping his own gas! McCain had the same thing to say 6 months later. Have you seen the latest on the 350,000 American jobs lost in just the last month or the phenomenal numbers of other business are going bankrupt? What about all of the homeowners forced into foreclosure and the millions of Americans who can no longer afford healthcare or health insurance and who are literally forced to stay sick or thousands of Renters who are now losing their apartments because of the homeowners foreclosing. Innocent persons are out on the street with NOTHING left except for HOPE..the hope for a brighter tomorrow or even the slightest bit of change that 1 single man who is passionate about bringing change to America and restore our economy to at least a point where all Americans can have some sense of hope. Just curious...Are you here in America ... out to lunch or somewhere overseas...maybe on another planet?
