UPDATE:

Two More Polls Show Obama Pulling Away

Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg: Obama 50%, McCain 41%

"Obama improved sharply over the last month among independent voters, a much-desired bloc. McCain carried them by a 15-point margin in September; in this poll, Obama led among that group by five points. Men, too, moved toward Obama, with the traditionally Republican-leaning group now in his camp. He also maintained his lead among female voters."

New York Times/CBS News: Obama 53%, McCain 39%

"Six in 10 voters surveyed said that Mr. McCain had spent more time attacking Mr. Obama than explaining what he would do as president; by about the same number, voters said Mr. Obama was spending more of his time explaining than attacking.

Happy Dance! Happy Dance!

I was doing several Happy Dances this morning after seeing the new poll #s toward the end of CNN American Morning. John Roberts delivered the breaking news.

My dog & cat thought their mommy had lost it. I kept going "Happy Dance! Happy Dance!"

Hopefully it's "Happy Party" time in 3 weeks... In the meanwhile, praying hard & crossing fingers, toes, etc.

Take that!, McFailin'...

We shall Happy Dance the night away....

I need a fucking stiff drink- the CBC just called the election for the conservatives. Kill me down ( small silver lining- both the NDP and the Greens have had significant increase in percentage of votes, and the NDP have picked up seats. The Liberal party is falling apart).

KPed, are you KIDDING me? Omg. That really sucks. But I am glad for the tiny silver lining.

I'm thinking you need longer campaigns there, Kirsten. Next time you can have half of ours. :)

Good to see that part of last night's 46.6% is shaping up.

I have to say, I like the change in polling times that allow Alberta and Ontario polls close at the same time, there by giving me approximately thirty minutes of hope that my vote might actually matter.

And Chris, you can keep those eternal election cycles. I like the six weeks. Quick and painless. And I voted today in a school gym with this novel thing called a paper ballot and a pencil. Amazing.
