Poll-itics: Gallup shows Obama lead widens edition

By GottaLaff

GObama!

The political landscape could be improving for Barack Obama in the waning days of the campaign. Gallup Poll Daily tracking from Oct. 28-30 shows him with an eight percentage point lead over John McCain among traditional likely voters -- 51% to 43% -- his largest margin to date using this historical Gallup Poll voter model.

Obama's lead among expanded likely voters is only slightly greater than that seen among traditional likely voters. He now leads McCain by nine-points, 52% to 43%, using this looser definition that does not factor in whether respondents have voted in past elections, but strictly relies on their reported level of interest and intention to vote in the 2008 election.

Obama's current 11-point lead over McCain among all registered voters -- 52% to 41% -- is up from an eight-point lead in yesterday's report, and ties his highest advantage on this basis, last recorded 10 days ago. (To view the complete trend since March 7, 2008, click here.)

So what the Heck is Rick Davis talking about when he says this could be the biggest come back in History

I need to share whatever it is he is smoking

I start freaking out and hyperventilating when I don't see the Gallup poll posted -- I start thinking he must have dropped way down and that's why it isn't posted. You are filtering the news so I won't get depressed...which I appreciate...that's why I'm here, so I don't have go out into the cruel world and see the news myself.

Anyway, now that I see the poll, I'll take a shower and try to calm down...before I start getting worked up again worrying about tomorrow's poll.

I've been interested/involved/engrossed in politics for 45 years, and I cannot remember seeing that amount of widening of a lead in a poll from a serious outfit working in an open advanced democracy. 4 days from THE day and it just goes Weeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Barack Obama already has his place in the study of politics, for all the right reasons.

Fun time! Complete this sentence: McCalamity already has his place in the study of politics, for all the________reasons.

Yoga, Sometimes I don't post if they've dropped a point or two, waiting to see what will happen. But I've never felt that I've had to actually hide any polls.

In fact, I think I may have even posted some that show blah numbers, or McCain ahead.

I do hate doing that, but I can't justify hiding them completely.

But your instincts are right. I do try to keep you happy as often as possible. ; )

Do you think the pollsters could be overstating the polls? I'm serious. Something just doesn't seem right not unless the M/P Camp is trying to use reverse psychology. I know that they are driving the racism factor in those suburbs big time.

They are lying about his healthcare, his taxes, him funding defense, blah...blah...These are low information voters and they will believe a white guy quicker than a black guy...especially a pow...

The reason Rick Davis said this will be the greatest comeback ever, is that is the only hope anyone on McCain's campaign will have another job.

When Obama wins, we will also see the amount of Republican seats in the House and Senate going down 25%....so not only will the McCain people be looking for work, but 1/4 of the current congressional staff will be unemployed. These people will have to get real jobs.
