Palin solidifying the base all right, the haters

Lots of good writing on this today here, here and here, but this is the nut graph-

McCain had said that racially explosive attacks related to Obama's former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, are off limits. But Palin told New York Times columnist Bill Kristol in an interview published Monday: "I don't know why that association isn't discussed more."

Worse, Palin's routine attacks on the media have begun to spill into ugliness. In Clearwater, arriving reporters were greeted with shouts and taunts by the crowd of about 3,000. Palin then went on to blame Katie Couric's questions for her "less-than-successful interview with kinda mainstream media." At that, Palin supporters turned on reporters in the press area, waving thunder sticks and shouting abuse. Others hurled obscenities at a camera crew. One Palin supporter shouted a racial epithet at an African American sound man for a network and told him, "Sit down, boy."

How far will the McIce Queen take this? Are they trying to motivate someone crazier than they are to attempt to do something really stupid?

What's most despicable of all, is that McCain has an adopted minority daughter, and her father seems perfectly fine with this type of behavior.

Honor, my ass...more like no shame. McCain’s daughter, Bridget, must be really proud of her father.

I don't find this guy's T shirt particulary objectionable. I would wear a similar shirt about McCain anytime. Seems like legitimate political expression to me. Unless I have completely missed something here.
Its McCain and Palin who are descpicable for inciting hatred for Obama. They know what they are doing and I hope for once the media does its job and calls them on it.

I was just looking for a pic from the rally that fit- it's not the worst shirt, but not the best either.

McCain/Palin/Rove know exactly what they are doing. They are trying to ignite a RACE WAR, be it verbally or physically. I get it now. They have nothing else to loose. They know that thier racially tinged rheteric will have this affect on the base. They know that the far right are mostly racist. They are feeding into this so the issue will be about race. They want some lunitic to start screaming NIGGER and others to start static with blacks , knowing that some blacks will retaliate and there you go.. Now, there are some ignorant black folks out there that will use the opportunity to just be violent to whites and vice verse. MCINSANE and his Handlers feel that when it comes to an all out race war most people will stick with thier (own kind) so to speak. WHAT WE NEED TO DO as Blacks is realize that these fuggin asshats are doing this on purpose and know that the people who are spewing hate are not the majority and we should not respond to it. What white people need to do is not play into the bull shite if they see some ignorant black retaliating. We need to put those type of people in a category and stand back. Let the hateful go at it and we continue on our mission in voting OBAMA president.

We need to make a pact here and now to stand by each other WHITE,BLACK,ASIAN, MEXICAN and all who are voting OBAMA, no matter WAHT, we need to realize that not everyone wants change but those are not the majority.

Kenyan authorities have apparently not taken kindly to Jerome Corsi's attempts to smear Obama at their country's expense. From what I could tell in typically foggy WND story details, Corsi is trying to exploit Obama's natural concern for Kenya's domestic tranquility as some kind of tribal politics favoritism, no doubt aimed at people who don't know the differences between such tribal identity, Islam and anything else "foreign."

I just saw the Guardian story you linked downthread. Of course WND didn't point out the part about Corsi performing work without a work permit, which our country also doesn't allow on tourist visas.

This PALIN woman is a disaster and if she doesn't tone down these racial insinuations in her speeches and snidey remarks she will cause dangerous riots in this country. For the good of this country McCain needs to get on the friggin' mike and tell his supporters that racism is not acceptable if he is really the "COUNTRY FIRST CANDIDATE" she as KO said is too damn to know what the fuck she is doing but if innocent people are killed because of all the bile she is spewing she is DANGEROUS...

Jon Lester said...

Despite the McCain campaign's plainly dishonest use of the motto, "country first," it does illustrate just how many people are unaware or uninterested that, in our system, the people are supposedly sovereign and have supremacy over the state. Putting the state above the people is pretty close to how you accurately define fascism.

Ellen, Ice Queen on MSNBC lying about Obama's tax plan again and saying that Obama wants to surrender in Iraq...It's just the same lies over and over again.

One up for Obama...This clown had to actually purchase an Obama T-shirt...Ha...

This is shit is getting me riled up to go knock some heads.

The right has been stirring up worries that if Obama loses there will be race riots. They throw that out, pair it with "Obama loves terrorists", and bam, we have a perfect recipe for race riots- but ones that happen if Obama wins. Bush is setting aside active duty troops for positions in the US. Maybe this is just my inner conspiracy theorist coming out, but that sounds like they are working on creating an event that will allow them to declare martial law.

Scary scary scay.

Sarah Palin's rhetoric is unquestionably an immoral abuse of power. She has no place in 21st century politics. She has no place speaking on behalf of woman. She should be arrested for hate crimes if she doe s not watch her step.

This woman is inciting violence. She knows damn well what she is doing. I think McCain is doing it too.
Was there ever a time in history where a candidate or political party incited violence? Well Hitler comes to mind when I ask that question - but I'd like to know if there is a history of that in this country?

When the McCain campaign has stooped to enflaming their "faithful" with these latest tactics, I truly fear the monster they may create.

All it takes is one rabid looney deciding it is his "patriotic duty" to "do somethin' about it".

Did someone tell Palin that she is no longer in the fishbowl of Alaska. Her words can have serious consequences. We live in a diverse nation with extremes in both directions. She is proving that SHE is the one that hates America.

Cheryl said...

I can not believe the hatred that is coming from the McCain/Palin campaign. This can have a consequence. But I hope not.

If I called anyone a terriorist, I probably would be hunted down and arrested. If anything happens to Obama, I will hold McCain, Palin and their supporters responsible.

This is a outrage and how can people be so full of hate...I have tears in my eyes. Just shameful.
