McCain Still Appealing To His Hater Base

Imagine if the McCain campaign had actively discouraged the lies and innuendo about Obama? Hell, he won't even disavow a blatant comparison between Obama and Bin Laden! We wouldn't have had crap like that picture above and this story to deal with.

A volunteer with Rep. Lincoln Diaz-Balart's campaign was dismissed Monday after warning a Miami voter not to vote for Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama because ``he's a Muslim.''

The assertion came in a phone call to Maria Levrant who said she was shocked by the ``flagrant lie.''

(snip)

Levrant, an aide to Miami-Dade Commissioner Katy Sorenson, said she was cleaning her house Monday when a volunteer from Diaz-Balart's campaign called, asking if she was supporting the Republican congressman along with Republican presidential nominee John McCain.

When Levrant told the woman she was undecided, she said the volunteer told her ''this country is in really terrible trouble'' and that ``the other one, he's a Muslim.''

Levrant, a Democrat, said she told the volunteer it wasn't true; the volunteer referred her to ``all those years living in other countries.''

lol, if living in 'other' countries = being a Muslim....dude I should be one then.

for a great nation, why the heck are we terrified of people who are different than us? I mean, most Muslims in Asia, Africa and others do not fear us...and they should since we have direct impact on them daily.

That's absolutely disgusting! Guess McCains base has been reduced to white supremacists and nazi, kkk relics. And those monsters will claim it all in the name of religion I bet too.

How disgraceful.

Didn't McCain live in "other countries" for at least 5 1/2 years? Does that make him a communist? How stupid does one have to be to believe this stuff? And how scary it is that so many people do.

This is pretty low. I wonder why his middle name is in quotations?

Also, Senator Obama is against same sex marriage, but agrees with civil unions. The sign is just wrong.

Each case like this, as it is brought to nation-wide attention, reinforces the opinions of the ultra-Reps, who will never accept Barack anyway, exacerbates the confusion of the moderate Reps, and pushes most of the undecided voters our way. It's suicidal, but no more inept than the whole McCalamity/Republican campaign.

Then they have that wee problem that Barack is running the best prepared and best executed campaign since...ever?

As ye sow, so shall ye reap.

OK - We know Obama is not a Muslim but this Islamophobia has got to end.
Not all Muslims are radical extremists, and this is the first time in my lifetime that I have seen out-n-out hate for an entire religion. We could thank Bush and friends for that.
My husband - a Puerto Rican with a beard was verbally assaulted for being a Mother Fucken Muslim when he walked down the street one day in our neighborhood.
Do we need to wear armbands stating what religion or ethnicity we are? And what about innocent people who follow the Muslim religion? What type of armband will they get?
I feel like I am living in Nazi Germany. I don't like it at all.

I love this episode by Campbell Brown from CNN:

Thanks for the link Cyndi. I am glad that they are addressing it on the MSM.

This is the blatant face of xenophobia, and that atavistic hatred of all that is "not like us" is all that the McCain/Palin campaign has left to play with in its arsenal.

Those quotation marks around Obama's middle name? They underscore that the emphasis is on fearmongering and ethnic-hatred.

And these people think they are patriotic Americans . . .

Thanks for that video link. It needed to be said. This one needs to go out to all McCain supporters. Why would they treat people who are not white like they are not Americans. I have seen some athiests and agnostics who are more Christ like than these so called Christians. Especially the James Dobsons of the world. I am a Christian, and I believe in the principle of reaping what you sow. So they had better be careful.

Tsk, Why am I not surprised. This is just more of the same. I see this everywhere I go. There are always pockets of this going on. It is sickening. It just goes to show that America still has a long way to go.

What gets me is she allowed the Black pastor from Africa to pray prosperity over her, but, she cannot stand her black constituents. I am willing to bet there are not any of not many blacks in her church.
