Republicans lose voters too...
Nielsen released television ratings for the second day of the Republican National Convention.
Some of the highlights include:
- Overall viewing was more than 4.3 million people lower than the second day of the Democratic convention, and 600,000 people lower than the second day of the GOP convention four years ago.
- More women (11.2 million) than men (9.5 million) watched the GOP convention, a similar trend as found for the Democrats this year.
- African American viewing of the GOP convention (2.1 million) is less than half what is was for the Democratic convention (4.6 million)

Why am I not surprised!!!
What was there to watch? They are selling fear and sarcasm. Every other comment reminding us that McCain was a prisoner of war, as if he deserves the presidency for that alone. Politicians aren't known for inspiring the people they represent, so I guess this was their best defense. Oh... and if the democratic nominee was an old white man, would McCain have chosen a woman? It's his only hope for appealing to women and youth, though the average age at the convention seems to exceed 50. I'm white, much closer to 50 than 30 and male, but I'm tired of the same old politics and ashamed of my republican voting record. I could hardly stand to watch more than 30 minutes of their convention. This country needs to be healed and ready for that to begin.
Turn off the T.V. when the republicans are on and send the message that we won't listen to politics as usual.
Palin is a worthless, sarcastic, waste of skin.
In McCain's owns words, "a c*#t"
Palin should be ashamed for pimping her Down's baby and pregnant teenage daughter for political gain. Women are not going to fall for the RNC's shenanigans this time around. The leaders of their party assume that we are all like their Stepford Wives.
It's laughable that the RNC is the party of family values with the likes of Guiliani, McCain, Huckabee,
Gingrich, O'Reilly, Limbaugh and the long list of gay men pretending to be straight and the adulterers. Our campaign is about the issues. Since they're void of issues, all they can do is trash the opponent. They are helped by the press who refuse to report stories about Palin and McCain of which voters should be made aware.
If I hear one more mention of POW, I will puke. The world knows that he was a POW. That does not make him the better candidate. It didn't make him the better candidate when he ran against George W. In fact, I think it was only mentioned as a negative by the Bush campaign. McCain seemed reluctant to discuss it. Now, it's all we hear in reference to McCain.
Since the press is hell bent on convincing us that Palin will take all of Hillary Clinton's female voters, when will they share with those voters Palin's stand on the issues so important to the women of this country? I have reached a point where I can't tolerate any of the news channels. We rely on them to provide us with information and all we get is pampering of McCain and drooling over Palin. I declare here and now that Americans are too smart and too hungry for change to be taken in by the Rove and the RNC this time. Shouldn't Rove be in jail?
What has happened to the news media? I watch these interviews and it's like watching Entertainment Tonight.
No one wants to offend anyone. They ask softball questions and don't challenge the response no matter how inane or inaccurate.
The convention this week was partisan and divisive nonsense. How can the republicans parade Obama attacker after Obama attacker day after day and then end the convention on an "across the aisle" partisan scam.
It's insulting
