Religious extremism OK if it's Christian

This is the kind of crap millions of people see every morning. Personally, some of us do have a problem with extremist views like speaking in tongues, exorcisms and healings.

Paddy, religious extremism is okay if the extremist is a White Christian.

Of course Its OK because everyone else who is not a fundie is going to hell anyhow. As someone who is married to a German I can tell you that the rest of the world is seriously worried about this FUCKING COUNTRY too. . .

I'm pretty sure that the overwhelming majority of the country is with you on the speaking in tongues and snake-handling fronts. The people that truly worry me are the ones like my Mom who think that we each have a guardian angel following us around like we're little Billy in the Family Circus. The hilarious thing is, these are often the same people that believe in "only" a literal interpretation of the Bible. . . where said guardian angels are nowhere to be found.

Check this Morris guy out--someone ought to give a little context to Father Self-Righteous so we know where he comes from:

First he was a "theological advisor" to Mel Gibson...what does that say about his feelings toward Jews and non-Christians--he gave us a hint with his snide remarks about Obama's middle name

Secondly, he is a big honcho in the Legionaires of Christ--a huge religious community that was once headed by a child molestor (Father Maciel). This man was was personally "remanded to a life of penance" by Pope Benedict XVI...This man comes from the extreme fringe of the hard-right of the Catholic church--someone should ask him about all this.

Third defending Sarah Palin's right wing fundamentalist religious faith is risky business for an "orthodox" Catholic dude like this clerical blowhard--does he really agree with her intepretation of the Bible? Does he agree with her ideas about the authority of the pope? How about devotion to the Virgin Mary?

But this has nothing to do with religious faith. This dude is a Republican operative--nothing he says should be taken seriously--and Fox should answer some questions about why they have him on the air.

Why do I feel like being a christian I need to rethink my belief? This is just crazy

Ellen, you do not have to give up your belief in Jesus Christ. Barack Obama is more like Jesus than these other religious pharisees.Remember, Jesus was the first women's liberator ever. Jesus invited every race, color and creed to his table. Jesus dared ther religious right to cast the first stone. Barack Obama is the true Christian in this election. I am a Christian, and I abhor these people who say only their brand of faith is true faith.
