Does anyone know approximately how many people attended the republican convention last night?
The republicans want to skip the last 8 yrs. Unfortunately, the people lived through the last 8 yrs.
I think there were 20,000 people inside, but they were actually expecting more protesters than attendees......Not sure how that went, though.
Thanks Adrienne, another question bugging me - why, with all the focus on the families of the GOP candidates, why don't they ever let McCain's adopted daughter appear?
Anon, that question bugs the shit out of me too. On this blog, under "Hell Has Frozen Over," I believe, the McCains ARE seen with their adopted daughter who's from Bangladesh, I think...
I'm ALREADY sick of this Palin bitch and her pregnant teen. Many African American blogs are pretty pissed off about the image of a white, pregnant teen vs. the image of a black, pregnant teen. And I do NOT blame them one bit. This hypocrisy makes me nauseated.

anon, Bridget was there last night and was even introduced from the podium along with the rest of the family. I think that Paddy(?) noted yesterday that their daughter is only 17, and they are understandably protective of her. I like to joke about her low profile as much as the next person, but I think that some of us focus a bit too much on these kind of things, perhaps forgetting that these are still children.
