Obama to appear on O'Reilly Thursday

I'm not even awake enough to properly digest this. I guess he thinks he has to? G-d knows O'Reilly "chased" down the interview.... oops, seems the youtube of Billo getting fiesty with the secret service trying to get near Obama has been "removed", but you can see it here.

Barack Obama will appear on Fox News' "O'Reilly Factor" Thursday night, a Democratic source tells Politico.

The move is timed to counterprogram John McCain's speech to the Republican National Convention, which is likely to drive Fox's ratings sky-high and to give Obama access to a conservative audience.

It's Obama's first appearance on the widely viewed cable show, and is a sign of what Vanity Fair today reported is a "tentative truce" between Obama and News Corp. chief Rupert Murdoch.

On one hand, I am dumbfounded. On the other hand, Barack has such well tuned political instincts that I trust him on this. Do I trust O'LieLy? No, but I help but think that Obama has his I's dotted and t's crossed.

Obama had a meeting with Roger Allies.

This is a gift. It's the same night as McCain's speech. I think it's a clear signal that Murdoch is not behind McCain.

Oliely has begged him for this appearance. I would bet big money that Obama got very clear rules in place before agreeing to be on his show.

I may be in the minority, but I think this might work for Obama. For one thing, O'Reilly doesn't seem to be so blustery when dealing with a person of stature and authority and someone who will not cower to him. Secondly, it's on the night that McCain gives his acceptance speech. I'd bet that more viewers tune into O'Reilly than the convention that night. It would steal alot of McCain's thunder. O'Reilly will never be able to claim that Obama is afraid to come on his show after that. That will shut him down on that account. Obama is not afraid of O'Reilly, but I'll bet O'Reilly is starting to regret it. You know, that old saying "be careful what you wish for". Obama is much more seasoned than when O'Reilly confronted him at that speaking engagement.

Joy's right. BillO is a simple bully, and when confronted with someone of stature and authority, like all bullies, he plays nice.

I'd prefer to continue ignoring Fox all together, but there's little reason to think Obama won't do well with this "interview."

Obama made a promise that he would appear on The Factor and he's keeping it. But, this once again, lends credibility to Fox, and that's just wrong. Obama will piss off a lot of folks on the left--you'll see.

Keith has Obama on HIS show on Monday, I believe. That interview will probably to talk about the horror that is O'Reilly, and give Obama a chance to rehab his standing with the folks on the left. It's all good.

I meant to say, "That interview will probably BE to talk..."

Murdoch does what all magnates do: he hedges his bets with contributions to both sides. He had at least one fundraiser for Hillary last year.

Iam glad Obama is appearing on O'Reilly. I have confidence in Obama. He will answer the questions put to him without evasion. I am sure he welcomes the opportunity to present to the American people who he is and where he stands on the issues. I am also sure he made that clear to FOX. All should know by now this is not a man that you can push into a corner, where he is found at a loss for words. He thinks on camera which is uncommon for a politician, which is refreshing, it accounts for his sometime slow to answer responses. But, he always has something of substance to say. OBAMA '08-2016

I regret to hear that!!

I've "deleted" Faux News from our
satellite program guide. And we
have NO INTENTIONS of putting it
back...

Sorry, I don't appreciate Faux News
or as Keith Olbermann famously refers to Bill; "Bill-ol-ree" and
their total disregard for REAL NEWS!!!!!

Was Obama "sleep walking" when he
agreed to this interview??? If I were him, I'd stay as far away from Faux News as I would from the
"BLACK PLAGUE" (seriously, no pun
intended!!)

I am willing to bet that Obama has some serious rules for this interview. Like, let me answer the question before you butt in with another one. And do not yell and scream. And don't talk while I am trying to talk. etc.

Rules or no rules...

Don't trust Billo!

Don't trust Faux News!!

Can't believe Obama would even
seriously consider appearing on
that network!!

Why not MSNBC???

Why not with Keith???

My advice to Obama; Watch Your
Back... Watch Your Back... Watch
Your Back!!

This is to show that Obama isn't afraid of the right wing media nutz on Faux Noise.

He will out do McCrazy and Sarah Stalin Palin in the media, and shut down McSame's same old "I can win the war" rhetoric, he's planning, along with the "offshore drilling chant, he's recently picked up on the campaign trail.

Obama rocks in intelligient conversation to the People, no doubt, and won't fall into the same old traps of yesteryear's media spin.

BOBIDEN 08, LET'S GET THIS STRAIGHT!
