New Obama Ad: 'Foreign Vehicles'

Double plus good since it hits McCain on the foreign made cars, plus puts a little jab in about the thirteen of them. Nice.

Nevermind getting "thrown under the bus" -- McShame gets run over by his own fleet of cars. (That's gonna leave a mark . . .)

Meh.

This isn't the sort of ad that appeals to me ... not sure that attacking drivers of foreign cars is such a great strategy. Isn't Toyota #1 in car sales?

American cars are complete shit.

Not sure what the point here is? McCain has told so many lies, and so many more important lies, that this seems fairly insignificant.

In this case, McCain's lie was right in the face of those same "fundamentals" (i.e., the hard-working Americans) he claims to believe in and support. Maybe not one of his biggest, but a lie for all that.

In an of itself, this lie is insignificant.

But added to the heap of all the others helps highlight McSame's pathological nature.

I say call him out on every single one of them.

The ad was ok. It punched McCain for the lies he told. But a LOT of Americans own foreign made cars. It may not resonate.

But the ad is airing in Michigan, right? I think (hope) it will resonate there.

Senator McCain is trying to sell Detroit a lemon. Detroit does not make lemons; our auto workers are some of the most productive and efficient automobile manufacturers in this world.... they are not going to buy the lemons Senator McCain is trying to sell them.

The thing is, Buck, McCain stood on a factory floor and inform the members of the UAW that he drove American cars. It might not be a significant lie, but it was a lie, nonetheless, and it didn't need to be told at all. He coulda kept his mouth shut, not mention the make of his vehicles, but he didn't - chose to lie instead.

chris, was that where an OBAMA RALLY broke out?? And McCain made a rather hasty retreat??

Thanks, Chris, for the context. Paddy didn't give any context in the post and I've been completely absorbed with Hurricane Ike crap for the past two weeks so I haven't been paying attention to much else.

This is probably an issue that will resonate with Detroit auto workers, but I still think that it will be a negative ad for the rest of the voters.

You just aren't going to win going after people who drive a Toyota.
