McCain Manager: 'This Election is Not About Issues'

That, my friends, is why they're going to lose. I'm up here in the big IN, and every single person I talk to (alot, because I do it on purpose) says that this is about the issues. People are paying attention. They picked the wrong year and the wrong lame duck president to run this kind of crap.

Rick Davis, campaign manager for John McCain's presidential bid, insisted that the presidential race will be decided more over personalities than issues during an interview with Post editors this morning.

"This election is not about issues," said Davis. "This election is about a composite view of what people take away from these candidates."

Are you kidding me? The more they know McCain the more they know that he has nothing to offer. At least that is what I think.

Even if the election is to be decided on personalities more than issues, I still like Obama's chances.

That is so ultimately insulting.

We should expect nothing less from a Rovian campaign executed by Rove's disciples. McCain has sold his soul to these people.

The only time the Republican party is running on issues, its when they are 'wedge' issues such as gay marriage or Roe v. Wade.

If the past two elections were about the real issues, we wouldn't have a President named George W. Bush.

This election cycle is a lot different, and I feel that those voters who ARE paying attention, are paying attention to the real issues this time...they've been fooled twice, I don't think they're gonna let that happen to them again, I hope!

The Republican party grew by appealing to anti-intellectual, "Good Ol' Boy" tactics and use of propaganda. Palin, herself, is just a symbol for the evangelicals' special interests. We all know she isn't equipped to lead--if she had any sense or judgment, She would know she was over her head! Sadly, there is too little critical thinking among Americans, and Democracy relies on an informed electorate. We have been very poor stewards of our democracy.
